I can't decide on how to paint the bike.

I kinda like this:

...and this:

So i doodle this:

If anyone have a suggestions, get your crayons out and print this:
http://farm3.static....cc08f4a70_o.gif

I'll probably discard the rimstripes, and I probably won't be buying the original stickers kit, so the 'Yamaha' and 'TDM' text can be any colour.
As you probably guessed, I wanna keep it yellow, and somehow incorporate the yamaha stripe.

Any inputs appreciated.

I love that yellow/black Yamaha paint job - I had an RD400 years ago with that colour scheme and it was lovely...it went like a dog mind you but it was too pretty to hate. If I have have the need to repaint my 4TX I will defo do it in that scheme.

Have you ever lent someone 20 quid and never seen it again? It was probably worth it.

But then again, that is what my TRX looks like, so I may be biased wink.gif

Just to thow a curveball at you. the rear hugger could be sprayed with the speedblock running throught the center of it from the rear strut to the back wheel, with the speed blocks tapering to a point.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I guess i'll do something like the top scetch, maybe just a little modification depending on what the paint guy says.

Maybe I'll look into rimstripes too. Both the hugger and the front fender is black, so I think it will look good.

Tape is easy to remove if i regret it.

I love the first doodle and like the sound of some of the suggestions too, especially the reference to white underneath. This is going to be a superb thread if the TDM actually gets painted ..lots of piccies please!! biggrin.gif

How much do you think it would cost to paint a TDM like that?

A friend of mine has a paint shop so he'll give me pointers on what to do, and probably do the finishing or make sure i have the proper finish.

It'll probably cost me a case of beer or a a bottle of cognac, and materials.

This of course depends on if he thinks the paint scheme is feasible. When i described it on the phone he said it sounded 'doable but lots of work.....for YOU'.

Noone has mentioned lack of original stickers, so i guess noboy misses them.

Nice. I really like the looks of that bike.

I noticed the black patch on the side of the one i found COMPLETELY changes the looks of the bike.

I had a spare few minutes and thought I'd have a go.

By the way, has anyone got a drawing of a MK1 TDM, I might buy one to do up and paint it in this style?
