Those are great.
I'm fitting heated grips. And the heater elements are molded in the grips. But I'm saving the link to those, just in case

Removing stickers and coarse sanding all the parts:

Ready for filler and primer:

Primer done, ready for wet-sanding:

First colour. The white in the stripes:

Masking the stripes:

6mm wide stripes.

It looks easy, but getting the lines in the same place on both sides is not that easy. The masking tape can't overlap anywhere eather, cause paint will creep into the gap. The design of the side stripes is changed slightly because the top of the side fairings curve very much. The top black stripe would be invisible from the side, and it would just look weird, so it's moved down slightly.

3mm stripes on the rear covers:

Next step is black paint.

Basecoat, pearl and the first layers of clear, all done in one evening (required due to the properties of the paint).
Parts painted black, then masked off the parts intended to stay black:

Basecoat, looking totally different to the paint I ordered.....

3 layers of basecoat

Pearl colour, 4 layers:

Now i had to wait for the paint to dry, and peel off the masking tape when the paint was dust dry, but not hardened. Here's what i found.

This is like x-mas!

...more stuff to unpack.

...and more

Top box was also colour and decor matched.

Then i had to paint 3 layers of clear on top of that.
Now it has to harden for 2-4 days, then it's sanding, and 3-4 more layers of clear on top of that. ....then I'll see if it's ready or needs more sanding.

Same here, that looks lovely. Is your paintshop mate doing much of the work or showing you what to do and letting you get on with it?

It's gonna look excellent.
If i put everything on the bike, It would be difficult to take it off to finish everything. Too tempting to just go riding.
