right tanks fer the replies people, the main reason im tinking of fitting s/s lines is because the rubber hoses are 6 y/old and severely kinked into an S shape to attach onto the blue spots and this looks dodgy imo !!! as it is the brakes are brilliant and im not after any improvement in feel/power etc, etc, i even considered having a set of bespoke rubber hoses made up but i dunno how much £££ this would set me back.

spyball alarm/immob, bluespot brake calipers and Stainless hoses, Fournales air adjustable shock with Remote Resevoir, forks raised 10mm thru yokes, racetech linear fork springs in 15 wt oil, Kappa wingrack/luggage, heated grips, Kedo handguards, dual heat controller to power heated jacket liner and or pants!!, Stebel 136DB horn, K&N air filter, colour matched Baglux tank cover (magnetic tank bag modified to fit cover), osram +50% headloight bulbs, headlight protector,"NitramSpecial" parking loight, tail light indicators all running on LED's & incorporate "Lite Buddies", MK7 Scottoiler fitted, taller screen, 2-2 stainless steel CCC's, Devil stainless down pipes. MKI Renntec engine crash bars & sump guard.
engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.

Theres a bloke selling HEL lines on Ebay, £22:50 per custom made line. So for 2 long lines for a TDM with R1/R6 ends would be just £45, which is pretty good. Any colour too.
You don't want to be getting rubber lines mate
I'm gonna get a hydraulic brake switch for the rear, my 3rd one has broken, I'm getting fed up changing the fecking things

I have recently learnt that the way to bleed the standard brake hose set up is to detach the left caliper and hold it up in the air. This allows the air to 'rise' into the caliper which can then be bled in the usual way.
Still prefer the 2-2 method for the reasons I have stated in a previous post in this thread.
All now a fond (very fond) memory. Maybe again some day.

Jez, Hawmaw, Tony, did you boys get your blue spots fitted? Jez, did you need to "twist the hose" with your Thunderace calipers? If they allow you to fit the calipers without twisting the hose I may get a set.

yes, they fit straight on with no modifications, just a very slight twist of the hose.
i'm much happier with the feel, i like the lever being that much harder and the response is instant/sharp, much more to
my liking and much more confidence inspiring (unless your the kind of rider who panicks and grabs a handful), with the
blue spots that would cause a mess, either of your bike or of your underpants.
i have got braided lines, but not fitted them, as it is at the moment i dont think i they are needed, however i'll hang on to them just incase.

Got it done this weekend. Made up braided lines in a 'two straight lines' setup so no twisting required.
Very pleased with the calipers. They immediately felt more solid than the standard and worked better straight away, even with new pads. The discs are in fairly good nick so not much pad bedding in required. Lever feels good too.
Bled up easily too so do not be put off by the external link pipe on the older Thunderace calipers.
As it happens I fitted new chain and sprockets at the same time so the bike feels like a new 'un.
Let us know if you decide to go ahead Dap.
All now a fond (very fond) memory. Maybe again some day.

Jez, I will probably only go ahead if its possible to fit the Thunderace calipers without any change to the hoses and without the hose twist I have seen on some setups. I thought the Thunderace differed from other blue spots as they didn't require the twist? If the Thunderace also require the standard hoses to be twisted I don't think I'll bother.

alot of difference between their's and my hose setup PK, mine are badly twisted/kinked, looks like it'll be time to fit braided hoses over the winter in a bid to eliminate the kinkiness.
