Hi Gent's,
I've come back to this Forum after a few years of being off the road (killed the Bike) and to busy at work to fix, it's been sitting in bits in Dining room for 3years and the Boss("She who would like to be obeyed") is not pleased. So now I need to decide on whether to fix or Replace the motor. I'll sift through the Website before I ask stupid questions.

To introduce myself , David is my name, i'm 48yrs old , married, 5 kids, 4 Grandkids, and live on 100 acres of Bush between Canberra and the NSW Snowy Mountains (I put a pin on the Map) smack in some of the best riding in Oz , I've been riding since I was a little fella, mainly off road (miles and miles of Fire trails around here).
Bikes range from a '79 Honda XL500 with a 27ltr Tank (loved that old girl, went every where with it) had it for 15yrs, till the frame snapped deep in the bush and had to walk out, it was gone when i went back, Bastards.ranting.gif Kawa Z900, lots of Trailies.
Now in the Shed Iv'e got a Honda XR70, a Suzuki TS185, a Honda CT200ag, Atomiks Fury 250 (Cheap Chinese Trailie) the Monsters (Kids) use these , I get to ride them if I can crowbar them off.

The TDM is a '99 Baltic Blue Mk2 850 bought it in 2001 with 12,000km on it and had put 84,000km on when due poor Maintenance (Must Check OIL) spun the bearing off the Crank on the left hand pot. Broke my heart, only owned 1 other Road bike (Kawa Z900) , but ridden lots of mates bikes, and just loved the TDM from the first time i rode one, such a great bike for twisty mountain roads and the truly crap road surface here in OZ.
Any way I'm glad to see the site is still going , I was suprised to still find my login active, I hope to be a lot more into the TDM community in the future.
Keep it Upright.

Hi all,

I've been lurking a while but decided it's time I came out of hiding.

My name is Andy, 45 living in Derbyshire.

I've just recently returned to the TDM fold with my 2004 TDM900. I have previously owned a MKI and a MKII but got tempted away each time by plastic fantastics. Perhaps this time I have learnt my lesson rolleyes.gif

I like that rotflmmfao.gif

I actually stumbled on the word years ago while trying to do a cryptic crossword on a long night shift, don't think I worked the clue out but I discovered the word onanism and have used it in several circumstances since, including meetings at work with higher management. You can tell from the looks on peoples faces, who just understood what I said and who didn't rolleyes.gif

Anyway thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Hi all,
I have been hanging round here for a while now, very happily. Originally I'm from Blyth in Northumberland but now live in Paihia, New Zealand. I'm blessed to have a MKII in each hemisphere ( drum roll...) so I can tour when I come back to the UK. My geordie TDM has a predator 2 into 1, givi luggage & scott oiler, the kiwi one has a kerker 2 into 2, loobman, soft luggage & bar end mirrors. My kiwi bike uses no oil, sounds like a racing Ducati ( stunning noise! ) & goes like a scalded cat compared to the uk bike. It also uses a lot more fuel 6.5ltr / 100k if I'm lucky. I know not why until I take it to the garage for a major service, 45'000k.
Their was a TDM 900 in the family for a while but it did'nt live up to expectations & proved to be less nimble & fun than the MKII's though a better tourer. No offence intended. It now resides in Scotland. Next time I'm over I will make an effort to contact some of you oop north.

Hello everyone. My name is Brian and I come from the Merseyside area. I've had a TDM 900 for 3 years. I think it's a fantactic bike. I use my bike mostly for commuting but have started going on ride-outs with the lads from work. Did the Wirral egg run again this year. The TDM handles great but at low revs it seems a bit juddery - anyone have any ideas on what's going on?
