I think i will agree with robelst. These bikes are too heavy for these kind of stuff. But since you enjoy it thats what matters.

Thats what makes it sooo enjoyable. ANYONE could do it on a crosser....wheres the challenge in that.

Yes the TDM offroad can be done, but only someone with minimal brain cells left would try it with street tires. That is one of the good things about growing old, your brain cell count will eventually get to a more manageable level after you hit 50 or so.

Every time I turn off the tarmac, I feel more comfortable riding sand or gravel or mud etc. It takes a lot of time and practise to learn to cicurate such a heavy mammoth as TDM. In sand when the only way to keep yourself not falling, is accelerate, your brain keeps telling: "slow down, slow down"

The reason is not the bike or choice of tyres, but the gasket between footpegs and handlebars. The guy with Supertenere has much less experience than others
