aww tanx

the local guys have been doing most of the location organising as obviosuly being in the same country and speaking the lingo makes life easier

going by what has been said so far, its is expected there will be options to cater for all tastes&budgets.... camping thru to nice hotels etc

personally i like the idea of having the international event on the border of 2 countries, but also the Black Forest area has some amazing riding oppurtunites
and i've found the German roads to be much better quality (maintained better) than the French roads

Black 1991 850 MK1, 160k+ miles(ish, best guess really, gave up trying to keep count after 3rd set of clocks and 3rd engine), PilotRoad2 tyres, custom stubby exhaust system, bluespot calipers & goodridge braided hoses with dunlopads, maxton forks, Ohlins shock, kedo handguards, stainless TDM grill, Scottoiler with lubetube & dual nozzle thingy, Givi Wingrack2 with E45 & 2xE36s, renntec crash bars, Autocom with blueteeth & PMR radio, TomTom Rider2, Optimate IIIsp, Bagster tank cover, anti-dazzle coating
to fit : led spotlights, heated grips, new braided lines and rear caliper that actually has bleed nipples

Yep RTT09 was the Chaussee Deformee tour (cue Chris G), quite happy to find smoother (but still twisty) roads for RTT11.

It's still too early and there is not enough information available to ask anyone to commit to the 2011 meet but I'd like to get an idea of what proportion of people would prefer camping to hostel or B&B/hotel. The reason I ask is that the French, German and Italians don't seem to be big into camping and this might affect the final choice of venue. I know we have a number of dedicated campers on here and the Dutch also like to camp. The Italians seem to prefer hotels with jacuzzis!

Who's going to explain to the Italians how we normally "create" a jacuzzi in a normal swimming pool!

Non-camper here, but if the alternative is a 50Euro a night hotel I could be persuaded as I already have a sleeping bag from RTT09.

But - If I have to - I'll take one for the team and sleep in a dry, warm bed, and eat a full english every morning, swim in aheated pool and shower in an en-suite bath-room.

Certainly got a glimpse of the Dutch and their camping activities on RTT '09.............................

I wonder what Ray's Chief Cuntstubble would have to say about that pic?

I'm with the Italians (but not in the Jacuzzi

) on this one: Hotel/B&B would be my preferred option, but, as a 900 rider, I'd be happy to camp it up too. In other words, ~~I go both ways~~ I'm happy to fit in with what the rest of the Carpe contingent want to do.

A bit late perhaps but anyone thought about the Nurburgring as a location?
A couple of hundred TDMs on the ring would be a sight !

I don't mind camping but it's a bit of a pain having to lug all the gear. So I'd prefer a cost effective hotel but don't mind camping if we have to.

i prefer some sort of hired accommodation (any really) so i don't have to lug around a full camping kit.

...but i do like the social part a campsite would be.
