Sorry - this would be an ideal chance to join the club for real and see some friends & family, but I have a nasty redundancy exercise to manage at work during the next 2-3 months, so no hols in prospect. Mind you, the boss b******d off for a fortnight in Sicily the day after he announced it...

Hi Nanook
It,s only 20 minutes away from me anyway plus the fact I see more than enough of Aviemore as I work there every day so will probably call in to see everyone at some point during the weekend.

cheers Bob

I have a garage and a spare bed and lots of floor space (and some beer) in Edinburgh if any of the southerners want to stay Thursday night to break up the Journey?

Give Les my regards - I grew up in Elgin and still have relatives there, as well as indirect Buckie connections. Sad I can't make this trip but hope to meet some day.

I don't know if High Range in Aviemore do tents (they do caravans) and it's only minutes from the bunkhouse. Otherwise the nearest camping is at Rothiemurchas about two miles away up the ski road.

Sounds like a good idea, last time i went up scotland, my missus decided the outcome of the duration of the trip (indirectly, I could'nt put up with her whinging any more...) which was too early for me... due to stop in John o' Groats, but cut across to east coast and home from Ullapool on the fourth day...

I just need to check holiday availability at work...

Can't believe I didn't check this thread earlier, assumed it was talking about the daytrip arranged for a friday a couple of weeks ago!!!

Will check hols availability tomorrow...

Cheers
