Thought I'd start another thread so if there is anybody else that want's to do it non stop we can congregate here??

If it's ok with the others doing the Memorial run we could all start together and we'll just go or separate ways..

Anyone fancy it then?? hidden.gif

Got any dates in mind?

I'm in the faster camp. However unless JG objects, he did start the thread, I think we should have one thread on this one.
Hopefully all groups will aim to arrive @4-6pm on Saturday. JG's 3am start is just about spot on for the faster group.
Although we will need to keep up the speed to Avg 65 13 hours to make 4pm.

Hours Avg Speed
10 84
11 76
12 70
13 65
14 60
15 56
16 53
17 49
18 47

I'm up for a warm bed on the Sat night if there is one close by.

On a run up Newcastle in the summer I managed avg speed of 68 in my Rangy so shouldn't be too bad but I will be hoping to better the MPG????

Rangy managed 24.2 MPG on a run and about 15 round town!!! Normally about 18-20...

Yeah a warm cosey bed is best I think but we'll be too knackerd and pyeyed to care I think!!

I'm up for doing it in 1 hit,

I went from Leeds to JoG, and back again in 1 hit last June 1090 miles, it took me 23hrs 12 mins, rest breaks not including fuel stops were approx 1hr 30 mins. On motorways speed was kept to between 70-80 mph, and close to normal speed limits on all other roads.

Remember if riding in a group a 5 min fuel stop can soon turn into more than half an hour, people will need the loo, smokers will need a fag, sort out any bike problems, waterproofs on or off, bit of a chin wag, CAKE ect. So 13 hrs is going to take some doing.

By the way it cost me just short of £90 quid in fuel, that was 2 up all the way ohmy.gif
Touring screen, front fenda extanda, touring scottoiler, engine guards, hand guards, givi v46 topbox, bagstar leather tank cover with tank bag.Belly pan fitted. Rack and backrest fitted to top box
Would like some louder cans(on the way, now fitted) and may be a power commander.

Thats where we will have to be strict and may be have a 10-15 min stop with fuel which should be enough for coffee, fag and mars bar or fag....

If we have a good meal before we leave we will be ok on the great british motorway garage coffee, sausage roll and mars bars etc till we get the JoG??

There will be plenty of time to chat when we have finished!! We want to do it in the fastest time possible???

What I will be trying to do is not race but keep up a high as speed as possible according to traffic and peoples riding abilities but the faster the better yahoo.gif !!

I will be sticking to 30's, 40,s and 50's as per normal but it up to individuals how fast they go in between.... hidden.gif

No smoking whilst you are filling up please!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif
Have the 900s got an advantage over the 850s, better fuel consumption and a fuel gauge?
A well set up 900 has a range of @220 - 240 miles.

We have a choice of a three or four stop strategy each starting at LE with a brim full tank.
3 stop @210miles between stops.
4 stop @165miles between stops.
Later I'll try and relate this to where the key service stops are.

I don't mind being the trailing rider carrying some spare fuel, basic tools, cake and mars bars etc..
We can work out the details nearer the time.

Damn dude, I was getting 135 when my motor was cutting out nonstop in cross winds at high altitude. I think I was running on one cylinder, more or less.

This could be a "Tortoise and the Hare" trip.
850s racing ahead and making lots of stops 900s taking it a little slower with fewer stops.

My now Ex TDM easily got 55mpg on a commute. I'd hope that my replacement which I hope to pick up soon will do something similar.

JG - I need to pick up the replacement TDM from Sheffield as soon as the shoulder is up to it. If it the dates work out, can I drop by on my way back to London?
