This could be a "Tortoise and the Hare" trip.
850s racing ahead and making lots of stops 900s taking it a little slower with fewer stops.

My now Ex TDM easily got 55mph on a commute. I'd hope that my replacement which I hope to pick up soon will do something similar.

JG - I need to pick up the replacement TDM from Sheffield as soon as the shoulder is up to it. If it the dates work out, can I drop by on my way back to London?

Thetford on the way back from shefield to London?

Moose,

It would be a pleasure to drop by!
I'll bring some "cake".

PS "My now Ex TDM easily got 55mph on a commute." was supposed to be "My now Ex TDM easily got 55mpg on a commute."

One finger typing still!!

Nothing is out of the way when a slice of cake is at stake!!
I haven't sorted out a date yet. It depends on how well I mend and "tedium" working shifts.
I'm aiming for 21/22 or 28/29. I can't stand the tube any longer!
Last post on this subject I'll PM you nearer the time and create a new G2G.

Lets concentrate of the LE > JoG
So far we have a 3am Sat start with an average 65mph.
Can't wait!!

Not unless they are with fuel tongue.gif

I don't think we should aim for a average speed but just the fastest we can but thats down to the individual!

And I also think that we should try and keep all stops to a short as possible. Petrol, piss and press on should be the moto good.gif

It's 1000 miles each way? And you're doing the first leg (1000 miles) straight? Hard core. I've done 700 miles/day on my TDM, and oddly felt fine at the end of it. But, that's after riding several thousand miles immediately before. That's gonna be one long day unless you can really book it on the freeway, and even then it's long.

Wish I could join you all - I gotta see what this cake fettish is about.

Best of luck on the trip! good.gif

Anyone from the South/South East want to meet up on the way down?

Two possible meet up points.

1.) Ace cafe West London A406
2.) Junction 12 M4 Sainsbury's carpark

Maybe we could use both

Cake at both points!!!

Any thoughts?

P.S. LDRIDER, if you want to come I could sort you out a bed for the night in London!!!!

Thanks GW. Back at you if you get this way.

I'll be making my way over there one of these days, and probably buy one of those 450# MK1s to tool around on while I'm visiting.

So, tell me, how do you all pack your china for tea and cake? Special panniers? rotflmmfao.gif

I mentioned the LE>JoG trip to a mate of mine. He is dead keen on coming along, He has a FZ1 at the moment. but is thinking about getting a TDM. I think that if I let him borrow mine for a day or two he will be hooked.

Well I let my mate borrow my TDM for a night, he loved it and is nearly hooked. He is either going to swap his FZ1 for a TDM900 or a Triumph triple. If he hasn't sorted the bike out in time, he will do the LE > JoG ride on his current FZ1.

It is time for a fresh roll call on this one; those that are definately going

The Fast Group leave May 8th 2am - 3am start arrive 4pm - 5pm May 8th
OldGreyWizard Plus one - Room booked at the Hotel
???

The Slower Group, leave whenever you like but arrive 4pm - 5pm on May 8th
???
