Hi

Just had a thought. I should have picked up two 165 shims, one for the bike and one for the shim collection.

There are only 25 sizes of shims and there looked to be close to that number already (i didn't see how many were duplications) but it should'nt be too much bother to get together a full set or at least very close (perhaps leave out the very largest & smallest). I'd chip in for a couple to avoid the mad rush to get a bike running (the blast to Bury & back was good but bloody cold). It was £3 for a swap & £6 for a straight purchase so no great expense. There is, of course, the chance that you will need two the same size but that can't be helped I suppose. Unless going for a couple of extra of the most commonly used sizes but you would need to be really anal blink.gif and start tracking usage and trends etc

Also I'll see if I can get hold off some small compartmentalised boxes like the ones lathes inserts come in to store them in. Should have a couple at work I can aquire

Any comments ?

Wouldn't have been soo bad but they were the one's I was wearing!!

And since you are the one who shortly will be batting for the other side you are just getting used to have your hands on mens boxers tongue.gif

Kaustic the shim idea was a good one good.gif Maybe in future those who have the shim and still need to one for thier bike should buy 2 and put one in the set so there will be a better chance of having the one you need good.gif
Like Kaustic said and cos it's only £3 it's not even a cake mix yahoo.gif

Sorry Trevini it did give me that shooting down the spine tingling you get when you here a nice V8!!! And I kept it inside my boxers and that's why Moose wanted them?? doubtfull.gif

It looks as if you had a great day, if a little cold.
The pictures will feed my cake fettish for a for weeks.

I think I've a container which might suit the shim collection. I'll try and dig it out.

I hope to meet up with Moose and JG on the 21st when I ride my new, to me, 9'r back from Sheffield.

No. I was thinking more on the lines of that left hand coil or connections as the fault sounds like a LT or HT prob to me.

Hi

Just an update.

I mentionbed that my brakes had developed a bit of as queak just as I got into Cambridge :

Well I pulled the pads and the pistons looked a bit of a state, so I've gone for an overhaul. I've taken the calipers off and extracted the pistons to clean them up. I handed a caliper to of the fitters at work to see if he could find a coupling so I could connect them to the airline to blow them out. He came back later with all four out! I was going to ensure that I kept each piston identified so I could return each to its origional position but never mind. A dealer quoted me £ 85 for a full set of seals compared to Wemoto which were about half that. On impulse I've ordered new brake hose as well (avoiding some of the truly hideous colour combinations on offer) so with the new Renthal bars the front end is going to be a bit diferent.
