Hi guys . another newbie here . recently bought a 98 mk 2 (i think) tdm after many years and love it , except for the buffeting and wind noise at speed . have you designed a tiger screen for the 850 yet and if so how much plus shipping to Ireland and when can i have it mellow.gif

Posted a message in Noisy Screen! thread. Fitted a Tigerscreen yesterday. Brilliant. In windy conditions there is no wind or turbulence behind the screen, I ride around with the visor open now, and it's dead quiet except for the sound of the engine.

I was only going to fit it when I when on trips but I reckon I'll keep it on all the time now.

Poldark, Bebop & DevoTDM,
If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? I am 6' 4" and subsequently struggle to find a screen for my bikes to provide me with that calm quiet place that negates the need for ear plugs. I'm very interested to know if this screen will do the business for me.
Thanks and best regards,
Baron.

I'm 6' but Shane gets you to take some eyeline measurements on the bike and send them to him, each screen is made to order so the height is "personalised" to you and should therefore be just right.

Not sure if any of the other current users are your height, I suggest you PM TDMtoreneko (Shane) to ask more.

'03 silver TDM 900 with V-Strom handguards, GS1150 bar risers, givi box, baglux tank cover, PC III USB with K&N air filter, S/S rad guard, crash bungs, Tigerscreen, iridium plugs, braided front hoses, OEM centre stand, 15W fork oil & 10mm yoke drop, tutoro oiler & sheepskin seat cover! Thanks for posting here & in the " Noisey screen thread" Not much can be done about cross wind buffeting other than to drive a mobile coffin ( perish the thought ) tongue.gif
I find most bugs get deflected away now & obviously rain still hits your visor but at least you don't get pummelled with it.

As I've said before, I haven't seen(experienced) a screen that's 100% in both aerodynamics & aesthetics but I believe ( IMHO ) I've designed a pretty good solution for the TDM 900.

Got my screen yesterday and had it fitted within about half an hour, I'm 6ft tall with a custom raised slightly seat. I have never had a screen that i was happy with but this really is just right. can cruise comfortably at 85mph with my visor open as i am sitting is a quiet and still bubble of air.

Cheers Shane

OK guys & gals, I think sufficient testing has been done. TDM laminar screen is ready to rock! biggrin.gif

Here's what you get for $195 AU, ~ 97 GBP or ~ 113 EURO. plus shipping which is around 45GBP or $53 EURO airfreight.

I'm happy to report these screen are much tougher & a test one survived my rock test. i.e. I couldn't break it.

The Final version is a hybrid of Prototype 1 & 2 ( shown Here ) so is slighlty less pointed but close to what is shown here.
I'll provide fitting instructions, it's fairly straightforward but a bit fiddly so I recommend you get a second pair of hands to help. good.gif

So who wants one and would like to give it a review as well ? Opinions Humbley accepted.

just in case you missed it, this is what it looks like fitted.

http://i445.photobuc...rScreenSide.jpg

http://i445.photobuc...M2007_SE_K2.jpg

PM me with your address details & we go from there. I will also get some sighting measurements from you so the screen can be sized to suite each rider.

I believe payment via paypal would be best. biggrin.gif

29-11-2008 Went to the Ross Motorcycle show last Sunday & got comments " That's a really nice Yamaha " People had no clue that my screen is not off the shelf from a Bike shop.
A bloke in NSW has tested / reviewed the screen for me. See below. smile.gif

Shane How much will it cost to ship it Sydney NSW & i tryed to take off the stock screen but no chance,i just unbolted the 7 plastic screws of the front but wouldnt come off,can u help me with that

Hey Shane, is there any benefit in combining postage for the UK?

We can then meet up and eat cake while fitting the screens biggrin.gif

I'd be very interested in getting one as well if a batch post was arranged. The £50 postage is putting me off at the moment.

Ditto... should postage costs reduce I'd certainly be more inclined to give one of these a go. Can't believe if we got a good collection of people together we couldn't get the carriage charge down. Any view Shane?

It only takes 10 minutes to fit anyways.

Hi Sidey, very kind offer, think I will take you up on that in the new year - as long as the ice thaws out!

You pleased with it so far then? What else did you try before that and how does it compare?

Cheers

Looks a little odd, but very effective.
You can cruise at motorway speeds with yer visor open

Previously tried a cut down screen & an MRA vario .......but the Tiger Screen works best good.gif
