i've got 2 spare sets of carbs here so i'm fine matey, i think one set was Tylers....

I reckon the damaged diaphragm is a result of removing/replacing the carb tops with the carbs in situ. The diaphragm tends to hang and it's tricky to actually see if it's seated properly.
Are there any markings on the coil you've used ? Be good to know of a suitable replacement as they is getting hard to find.

nope none, i think it was an xtz750 one from wemotoobviously as theres no plate/tax/mot etc i havent had a chance to run it at any speed yet or up to a decent temperature
will report back once i've done that on how the coil copes (i have atleast 2 spare 3LD xtz750 coils here)

I thought the wemoto xtz coil only had 90mm centres, same as mk1.
Just bought a used oem XTZ coil, mainly cos it's got good caps on it. It's got 90mm centres. I might throw 'em on and see if there's any difference.
Interestingly, and bloody typically, a used mk1 coil has just surfaced on ebaygum

dunno bout the coils now, i ordered this quite a while ago for my XTZ and then found a 3VD coil in my box of spares
fitted that instead as planning to fit an 850 engine in there at some point
either go to halfords or n.e.other car dealer place with your V5 reg doc and have their logo plastered over it
or order from an internet place
the law changed in 2001 regarding plates, any vehicle before that doesnt need the manufacturers stamp or british standard logo in the bottom right of the plate
as this is a 1992 bike it just needs the correct font and size, therefore i ordered from an online shop in jersey that i'd used before
the bike wont be tax'd until 1st feb so not worried about postage times

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.
