Got exactly the same as you with a generic air filter and 140 MJ's and mine also runs slightly lean. Handy info about the needle shape, not summat you'd really consider, or be aware of.

but I'll have a go in theory when the fueling is correct she should produce around another 2-3 on top of that so you have a bit further to go
and as i said before, my interest with this bike is purely that she runs perfectly, the BHP figures are a by product of that

bike rejetted and running nicely in the garage, its just started pissing down and i cant be arsed to go for a ride yet
before i retire for the evening to do the washing up
i will fit the relay for the heated grips and a fag lighter socket that Cliff has requested
seriously wish i didnt have to sell it, spent most of my reserve getting it sorted and there is no chance of recoupping all the outlay
would have had enough time to replace the cash before hols etc begun but life had other ideas
best i can hope for is that it goes to someone who will appreciate it and cliff certainly seems to fit that ideal
ho-hum....depressed now

Ah Tony dont be to down about it........think about the trip she is gonna take me on and i can take her without the normal paranoia associated with buying another bike, she's been lovingly restored and what better tribute to give her than a 3,500- 4000 mile blast through Europe. I have to say when i showed your refurb post to my mate next door who is a Navy engineer and has a very broad knowledge of motorbike engines, he told me that the dedication and effort you put into this project was second to none, he did also mention it was pretty obvious you knew what you were doing, phew relief 
and encouraged me to buy it.
Your efforts are well appreciated m8 and it makes a change to talk to somebody about a bike and know how honest they are about it, so i'm quite convinced i have made a good decision.
I will look after her dont worry.......otherwise popeye next door, and he is built like him, will kick shit out of me.
I'm sure its a wrench but i hope you get some satisfaction knowing that i as a mechanical numpty can feel very reassured taking her on a long trip in the knowledge a bike could'nt of been better prepared for the road.

well had a test ride today and she's pulling lovely now
still not 100% happy with low speed, running rich on the left cyl & which seems to be an issue with fuel heights
didnt have a chance to do the dyno run today as Kris had a 70(+ish)mph blowout on my TRX yesterday so been trying to sort that out whilst dealing with manflu
i wish the carbs on these bikes were easier to get too....
ps. G, i managed to use part of your old frame for the sidestand extension, so she still lives on

I reckon there's some hp to be gained from refurbin the bottom end, Stormy's/Moose's is also up there in the 80+ club and he refurbed the bottom end.

I only see 76hp at the wheel, & 83hp at the crank on your dyno graph which is about right for a TDM
The 84.7 was at the crank, through the gears, which as the power was held on and it got warmer resulted in a too rich mixture on the last gear resulting in the 83hp (at the crank)

Kinda self explanatory - even if the dyno guy doensn't know what he's talking about/bullshitting you Tony.............................nice spread of power though - ironed out the usual 5,00 rpm "glitch" and up around 6 horse from a new tight one (bottom box)
PS............bound to get comments about the "new, tight bottom box"
