g'day gents, back after the festive break though mine will be extended as I've joined the ranks of the un-employed hopefully only short-term. unsure.gif

I've investigated the bulk post thingy & short answer is it's not an option.

Australia post will only bulk ship International items up to 105cm length & 140cm girth so we are almost at the limit with each screen package.
I've checked with the airlines & they are ridiculously expensive i.e. 5 times the value of each screen kit. ohmy.gif blink.gif

so sorry to say we're stuck with individual postage. sorry.gif

Anyhow I have 3 more orders already,1 Oz & 2 UK so if you're keen & in their area, Norty & Sidey have offered test rides & cake as well I hear. laugh.gif
Bearing in mind they may not be suited to your height it's worth checking out to see for yourself & then decide.
If I may dob in some others in different areas Poldark, Adibabi & Baron way up there in Scotland.

At the end of the day it gets down to how you want your riding experience to be vs postage cost vs are the other options any good ? dunno.gif
cheers, Shane from Tassie

I got out today for the first time since putting the new screen on, it was about 2 degrees this morning but along with the V Strom guards and heated grips it felt much better than it could have been.

There is still wind roar without ear plugs however the buffeting og the head has gone-stopped-vanished!

So it works, job jobbed and all that - thanks again Shane

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Here's another hand up from a 4TX - 'Mk 2' owner.

I'm sick of the standard, the Eagle touring (+160mm) and the Eagle Double Bubble ALL NOT WORKING!!! I'm 182cm tall and It's quietest and turbulance free with no screen (good in slower summer riding). help.gif
I used to have a Wee Strom with an adjustable for angle and height bracket with larger Givi screen - that worked great, and your Tiger Screen seems to be very similar - especially the laminar effect.

Please, please consider doing a version for the earlier models - especially the Mk 2 which looks quite similar to 900s.

Hello again Shane,

I am very interested in purchasing one of your screens, and I really need to know for postage cost to Melbourne, or what's the combined best price so I can
take further action and pay you.
I am new member here, and very happy that this forum is full with so much quality people who love their TDM's. I have just recently bought mine as second hand one
but in excellent condition, and have to say it's great, great ride!

All the best and thanks in advance!

My pleasure mate. Something I have no control over is Helmet aerodynamics so some people may still get noise depending on the design of their helmet but
generally I expect the amount of noise will be less. I know in my case the noise without the screen was like a jet engine ( loud screaming whistle ) but is now almost silent.

G'day Fred. No prob's shipping to UK. Price is as stated on the For Sale thread. While I was employed I could absorb the paypal fee (5GBP) but now being between jobs so to speak I can't. So it totals 147GBP. I need your sight readings as per the thread ( PM me ) & also your address details & Carpe username left when you do the paypal.
Allow several weeks for manufacture & shipping.

Hey there Doublechin, I got my 2007 TDM second hand from Geoff Taylor Motorcycles. It only had 1500km on it & was a bargain. It now has almost 14000km
on it after 17 months & I agree it's a brilliant bike. Cost to ship a Tigerscreen to VIC is $27. PM me with your sight readings, height & address details & we'll go from there.

G'day. I have been asked re a screen for Mk2's before. All I need is a Mk1 & Mk2 to model one off. There is a bloke riding a Mk2 around Hobart & I know where he works so maybe I'll have to approach him & ask to use his for measurements. I haven't seen any Mk1's here though. I'll let you know as soon as I've made some progress.

Hello Shane,
I came across this thread some time ago during your initial development of the Tiger Screen, which came to an abrupt end when one of the screens split in half after an impact. Having recently logged back into the thread I see that matters have progressed with the development of the high impact acrylic screen, and I wonder whether you've sold any in Townsville or surrounds that I might have a look at and get some feedback on.
Good luck with the screen and look forward to hearing from you.

As indicated in a slightly earlier post on this thread I've contacted TDMtoraneko with a followup enquiry about the Tiger Screen, but having read through all the posts i thought I'd throw in some pics of how I beefed up my Eagle Screen for those who share similar concerns about the ability of the front cowl to support a larger screen.
This first pic is of the bike with the Eagle Screen fitted, which I asked to be be made a tad taller than the tallest stock screen available. Eagle were happy to oblige, but without any guarantee as to the strength of the front cowl to support it at speed. This was an aspect that worried me too, so I fabricated two struts to attach to the screen and onto the cowling next to the tank.

This shot is a closer one of the arrangement. The struts were made out of stainless steel flat bar and 1/4" solid round, and made the screen extremely strong and secure. No issues at all on a trip from Townsville, inland down to Adelaide at speeds of up to 140k through the Broken Hill stretch (everyone was doing 120k, so you had to do 140k to pass!), with a very strong head/side wind at one stage. The screen didn't flinch.

This shot was taken indoors today, as everything was stored away because of a cyclone alert. Fortunately it crossed the coast further south.
Shows the set-up in a bit more detail, but two things are different. You'll see that the left hand rod now has a bow in it (as has the right)which I had to insert to provide clearance for the handguards I put on after the Adelaide trip, having nearly frozen up during one very cold morning on the way down. Simply a matter of bending up the U, cutting the brace and welding it in.
You'll also see an addition to the top of the screen now, which was a bit of an experiment in view of the fact that I was still getting a slight buffeting over the top of the screen. I took the idea off the Vario screen approach. It's pretty basic, again made out of stainless steel flat bar, to which is bolted a piece of 1/4' polycarbonate. It resolved the problem

This last shot is just another one from a different angle.

I thought this might provide some food for thought for those with taller screens. However, even though the arrangement works well in terms of frontal buffeting I still get an annoying level of wind noise which I've narrowed down to the fact that the screen is not wide enough, because when I take my hand off the handlebars and cross them across my chest (very briefly!) the wind noise really drops off and all I then hear is engine noise, which is as it should be. Hence the interest in the Tiger Screen, but even if I go down that path I'd still opt for the extra bracing for the very real sense of security it offers. With the addition of a cross brace it could also provide an attachment point for other things -eg GPS, Tom Tom, small bag.
Anyway, that's it for me for the moment.
Cheers from Down Under.
John R
