Will it ever get cheaper ? CARPE TDM ....

I think I've finally managed to get my arse into gear ( no 900 jokes pleeeeze) and got myself organised to join this venture.
It's somethive I've always promised myself I'd do, and to paraphrase the quote above now is as good a time as any to get the notch on my belt.
There is also a suggestion that JonnyB may be joining as well.

I want to do it in one hit, there seems to be no point in doing it over two days, that merely makes it a two day tour.

My pace will be the same as we took up to the Sept G2G last year and I think it will make the journey do-able in 15 to 16 hours.

My itinery is the same as that outlined by Ivan in an earlier post. You don't mind if I tag along do you Ivan?

Also do I need to contact the hotel in JoG seperately to book, or will the group booking cover me?

And what plans, if any, has anyone made about the "overnight" stop at LE ?

No problem with setting of with us Dave.

Glad you can make it. good.gif

JoG accomodation, is an individual booking you just need to ring him up and say your with the TDM group.

Link to thread

I have not done a block booking just warned the fella to put some rooms aside and to expect some calls, I organised a discount for B and B. and promised him we would all sit down in the restaurant for a meal and the presentation.

Not sure on the LE accomodation. to be honest I was just going to stick my tent up on the side of the road for a few hours, as we are leaving at 3 am. If its dry might not even bother with the tent.

Open to suggestions realy, ie meeting place.

Cheers, Ivan

If it is straight up and down twice, then its about 1,750 miles 'ish.

We are going over towards Skye and taking two days to come back. So I'm expecting 2,500.

You still worried about that tyre, Dave?

Just booked my twin room, I'd be quick if I were you or you might a double wub.gif
The booking number has changed it is no longer 01955 611 219 but 01955 611 220.

I think I'll go with the majority on this one and aim to depart LE at 3am, aiming to get there at 5pm for a wee dram.

Can't do the run myself, but live 20 miles south of Groat's,

in a small village Thrumster

If anyone wants to pitch a tent in our garden that would be fine.

Have got two tents of our own and could put them up for anyone

traveling light.

Sorry guys and gals but I'm having to pass on this trip due to work commitments but in this current economic climate work really does have to come first ... really gutted ranting.gif

Good luck to all the rest of you and ride safely.

Look forward to reading the stories about sore bums etc. rotflmmfao.gif (that's the bit I won't miss)

Sorry to hear it Sagalout.

For those who are going can you confirm as this is what I think there is.

OldGreyWizard ,
Rami,
Markalisson,
DazzerB,
Markymark
Big Dave
Wolfrunner
Aircooled
Geordieguy
Chrisville

Dont think there is a slow group.

so its off @ 3am to get to the top by 7pm.

averaging 53 mph we should do it, no problems blink.gif

Still its a challenge and not many people can say they have done it.

if there is time, Iam going for the 1,000.

Cheers, Ivan

We should be passing through there between, 05:30 and 06:00, @145miles. I think it probably should be a planned stop. Do you really want to get up that early?

So it looks as if we have a cake stop, J27 of M5. Thanks Dapleb.
We have a bed for the night at JoG and dinner at 8pm.

Has anyone made plans for what we do at Lands End?
I and a mate from work, probably riding his FZ1, aim to arrive at the starting point some time Friday afternoon.
We will have a few beers and get as much shut eye as we can. We haven't booked anything yet. Might just rough it!

Has anyone else arranged anything?
