Yes, she is fine with that. She has another bike group booked in for the Sat night that have blocked booked all the rooms, so she is glad to get the business on Friday.

Sorry guys I'm going to have to drop out of this mini adventure. I just been diagnosed with "carpal tunnel syndrome" and can't ride for too long without getting a lot of pain in my hands. Hope i can get it sorted (or at least reduced) before the Aviemore trip in September.

If your planning on a fuel stop at Michael Wood services north of Bristol (acording to Garmin its 215 miles and 3 hour) i'd be delighted to meet you all with some hot Drinks and Cakes . . cake eating.gif

OldGreyWizard and Blingers are both still up for this. Accomodation booked at both ends.

I will leave Swindon, my parents place, and meet Blingers at 10am on Friday at the Solstice Park services on the A303, Amesbury, Wiltshire, SP4 7SQ.
If anyone wants to join us there or would like to meet up along the way then let me know.

We intend to stop off a couple of times, one being an all day breakfast bar that Blingers knows near Dartmoor.
Hopefully we can get some beer induced early sleep and make that 3am start.

Has anyone got room for Home made Chocolate Cake?

I'm planning to set off from west yorkshire early friday morning - 8.00ish and would be reet happy to meet up with a fellow traveller(s) at a service station on the M6/M5, suggestions please.

wrt to the post from GG today, without being a pessimist, there may be a need for someone to drop out at the last minute due to a situation out of their control.

Can I suggest that we all check this thread just before we set off and that if anyone has to blob out they let us know on here ?

quick edit - forgot to add, quite fancy calling in at george whites superstore at bodmin on the way down

I expect to be at this junction at around 10.30 ish.
I have booked in at The Commercial at St Just. Any body else stopping there?

For those still looking for accomodation at LE - the Old grey one and myself are staying at Sunnybank, lovely owner who was interested in the ride, doesn't mind the 3am start and is even doing us a packed breakfast for the morning. Best of all its 3 minutes from LE which makes all the difference at 3am....

Blingers - where is the all day breakfast location on Dartmoor. Would be good to catch up with you and the Wizz there if we could?

Do you think your landlady would accept a booking on the day if I change my mind?

Newcott services - about 30 mins from Dartmoor area from memory, stopped here on the last few bike trips down to scrumpy & cream tea country and was a good 'ol greasy spoon - guesstimating the Wizard and I will be there around 1ish

Eleni was the B&B owner I spoke to this morning I think she had 1 or 2 rooms remaining... policy was £30 deposit which is non refundable on cancellation, might be worth a chat just to see what availability she has remaining.

I'd like to tag along, what day is it Ivan? Would you be coming through the village (plenty of refreshment places) or would you be sticking to the A9?

Joe,

Next Saturday 8th, May

Think we will make it a fuel and p!ss stop.

So we will be going to the shell garage in Aviemore, then on to a coffee shop or something,

Will probably not stop for long 15mins max?

If you PM me with your tel number, I can give you a ring when we leave the stop before.

Cheers, Ivan
