the later the better for me, i'm not back at work till friday the 4th do you think there will be a chance for a photo opportunity at le Mans on the way back up ? and we have'nt planned an overnight stop for the route back yet ! thats not gonna be a problem is it ? im guessing we will need it near limoges / poitiers or tours area !! but i dunno , you will know better.found out that pic de midi cablecar dont run on tuesdays PHEW tis lucky it will be wed morn tongue.gif 10am is first car up so plenty of time for breakfast and nice roads to the base. i would appreciate a least a short visit to andorra just to a big petrol station for cheap tobbaco laugh.gif the roads are looking more and more amazing i have been pinching roads off best biking roads and trying to make round routes from tautavel (up for discussion of course, as im sure you have plenty of lovely routes in mind) what kinda day / distance on those roads do you reckon we could achieve ??just looking forward to it all and praying to the weather gods (although gary not going has got to help tongue.gif )will speak soon Mick will ring you sometime midweek.

Don't worry about the roads around Tautavel - I'll sort out some good routes for us when we're there good.gif
Andorra not a problem - all the newbies want to visit, so we'll go - probably via Font Romeu, Latour de Carol & the col de Puymorens

We could also do the coast road from Collioure down into Spain - Cadaques is nice

250 miles a day is generally enough when we're in the mountains - 300 miles max, as you'll really know you've done it !

I've done that road... Great fun but be careful as you will find your eyes wandering from the road to the specctacular scenery... Keep looking ahead and pull over if you want to admire the views!

Bugger, now I'll have to pack me snowchains laugh.gif

Think we'll stay on the sunny side of the mountains if it's snowing though .......Col de Tourmalet & Andorra might be a bit iffy if the weather is bad, but the rest should be OK

There may be a spare place going if anyone is interested, as my mate Elliott may have to pull out for family reasons.

Departure date Sunday 23rd May - Plymouth to Santander .........return date Tuesday 1st June - Boulogne to Dover

As many twisties as possible in between good.gif

As sidey has mentioned it is highly likely that there is a spare place on this tour if anyone is interested

There may be a spare place going on this year's annual run if anyone is interested, as Elliott may have to pull out for family reasons.

Departure date Sunday 23rd May - Plymouth to Santander overnight ferry.........retur n date Tuesday 1st June - Boulogne to Dover - 9 nights/10days

Itinery is -
Depart 4.00pm Sunday 23rd from Plymouth - overnight ferry to Santander in Spain
2 nights at a hotel in Potes on the edge of the Picos http://www.cantabria...ablecimiento=10
Half way across Pyrennees on spanish side, with an overnight stop at a hotel in France, http://www.grand-hot...e.com/index.php
Trip up the Pic du Midi following day, http://www.picdumidi.com/picdumidi.htm

then over to the Med side for a few nights over at Chez Sidey - accommodation basic & self catering, but free ! http://www.tautavel.com/
Thursday to Monday doing the Eastern Pyrenees/Andorra/Med coast road or just chilling out in in a nice French village
Then a 2 day ride up through France via Viaduc De Millau & Lemon, stopping at a Campanile on the way up.
Return Ferry at 5.00pm on Tuesday 1st June from Boulogne.

Ferry crossings are £150 going over (this includes bunk in a shared cabin) plus £30 return
Hotels average 40 Euros a night - 4 nights total
Apart from that it's food, drink, petrol & some tolls in France

There will be 4 of us going - & there will have to be some room sharing.
There will also be some challenging mountain roads & some big mile days, including some on motorways coming home.
Trip miles on this one will be 3000-4000, depending on how much day tripping we do, so fresh rubber & a service before going is essential

Anyway, lettuce snow before next Friday if interested, as I have to alter ferry bookings

I'll be going down on Sunday - over to M42 then down M5
My cousin will be setting off from Hatfield, then M25 & M4
Mark, if you can text me Stuart's number, then maybe the Southern 2 can meet up & ride down together.

I'm arranging to meet up with big cous at Bristol Services
