It was absolutely brilliant weather and met some really friendly people today. Everyone was so helpful and special thanks must go to Charlie (The Thigh) for hosting the fettling day, Ian (Studley Ramrod) the carb king and Lee (Lee Henty) the oil valve guru.

Some people came from such a long way to be there and before you ask, yes, there was plenty of cake - Ivan has video and photographic evidence!!!

..and those bacon paninis were delicious!

Hope to see each and every one of you soon on a GTT.

Best wishes,

Rick.

Well home after the long way home. Cracking day out. Nice to finally meet some of you guys.
Plenty of cake and many thanks to Charlie for all the cups of tea.
Day ended with getting pulled by Staffordshires finest on the M6 and being told my rear tyre
was illegal dry.gif (you were right Ivan). After some finest 'I didn't realise occifer' and a promise
I was getting them done for Scotland next week he sent me off with a wrist slap and a warning yahoo.gif
So I am £235 lighter but legal and ready for some corner bashing in Jockland biggrin.gif
And yes Ivan I did go for the Michelin PR2 in the end as the guys at my local fitting shop recommended
them too. And they do know their onions.

Cheers guys

Matt

looks like a great day lads - did not realise you were so close to wor hoose!

I had a solo mini tour of the northern dales (and checked out a couple of campsites for future motor-home use) to make use of this brilliant sunshine

Muker is just a glorious little spot, even if a bit arty crafty in tourist season

even tried me puddin' basin (B.S.2001) to get wind in my face when well away from the traffic and at 25mph in the red hot sun

for the first time actually had a look at the famous 'buttertubs' of buttertub pass - I had never actually seen them before

all in all a cracking day....but, I would like to join (and learn) any future fettling day if there is one in NW

Pete

Just got in after 71.5 miles, used 6.95 litres = 1.328 gal = 53.84mpg tongue.gif

Ian mate great job she pulls like a train no flat spots 100mph + and she still wants to go, a totally different beast! good.gif

Thanks to all those who turned and a special thank you to Sue Henty for looking after us so well and supplied with adequate fluids on a very hot day.

Looking forward to meeting you all again at the next GTG?

Matt I heard Ivan on the phone saying 'yes officer that's correct a silver TDM' wondered who he was talking about? blink.gif

Wake up Pete it's only been on the forum 4 a month, have you not updated your sat nav recently or has Merseyside shifted since the last eruption on Iceland! Repeat after me must pay more attention, must pay more attention and remember to take my medication! clapping.gif clapping.gif clapping.gif wakey, wakey!

it was good to meet up have a cup of tea, some short bread, standing around looking at and comparing TDM's wub.gif

whilst someone was taking theirs apart, !

I had a great morning and I really enjoyed it.

Pleased you got away with a warning and not a blow-out Matt, now you will start and appreciate what the tdm is like in corners with a new set of boots on it.

I had a few flies on the way home but wow !!! Studley how you rode like that without being tempted to wipe them off ohmy.gif Respect.

Peter, what a day for that ride, we should have been with you. Cracking photo's them.

Get a days GTG going, before the weather changes, what a bout an after work / evening one ?

My computer decided to pack in so the video will have to wait, using the grandson's laptop for this.

Cheers, for yesterday. Ivan

Hi Pete,

I was in the Dales yesterday, went from Clitheroe over the tops, past Stocks reservoir then over Malham Tarn. Very nice coffee shop in Kettlewell, then on to Aysgarth, Leyburn and over the ranges to Reeth for ice cream, then up Swaledale, through Muker and I saw a very smart 900 outside the jumper shop. Couldn't stop, as in a rather large convoy (24) Lunch in Thwaite, back over Buttertubs to Hawes then through to Sedburgh, down to Devils Bridge then through to Crook O Lune then home. Brilliant day out, weather was a bit too hot for biking, but no complaints.
Ride Safe,
Colin

Great news Charlie ! You've got a good engine I reckon, top end is the quietest I've ever heard. Better economy than mine blink.gif I got 45 mpg although I didn't hang about on the way home.

Must be them FP tubes ! Although I'm sure that fitting all them new gasko'ringaleros also helps. BTW, did you check the rad coolant level ?

Is it me, or does Pete look slightly disappointed with the world famous Buttertubs laugh.gif

hi ya all finally home very hot today and lots of part time pikey's on the motorway.

Great to meet you all, and thanks for letting me have a fiddle with both models of 850 TDM. Got a better idea of where everything is when looking at Charlie' s with the carbs off.

Dablik, no worries mate that bit of chocolate block and tape worried me a bit and the other terminals wanted sorting, best to have it all done whilst the fairing is off makes it easier next time.

Wilsey, Pm me mate with your address, I have some M5 stainless screws for your side fairing to send you, can't leave that nasty self tapper in there, wouldn't be right on such a nice paint job.

Finally great to meet you all, I forget who had the very highly polished and sorted 850 (Ivan ?) but it was a credit to you.
