Combined route looks excellent, Alan. The section from Glenshee ski centre to Braemar is a fantastic piece of road.
Hopefully there will not be too many tourists out and about that day.

Don't forget to check the weather forecast folks. At the moment Friday is looking good but pretty cold overnight. Winter draws on and all that!

good routes agree with Johnny abt Glenshee bit loads of yumps and tight bends coming down from Glenshee have done this twice in the last week once to Dundee and went that way to Leuchars airshow on Saturday. The route that goes to Huntly I would be inclined to forget the A96 bit and head over the Cabrach to Alford. The Roybridge road has bad banding on it and can catch you out in the wet as we found out last year on the way home but is good in the dry look forward to seeing u all

ah ha... the old anticlock direction trick. Here in the antipodes you're almost guaranteed a rain-free trip if you go anticlockwise, or so some say. Worked for me for my 2.5 week, 13000km trip - nary a rain drop in over 17 days.
If that's the case.... shouldn't you lot that live up and over ride clockwise then?

spyball alarm/immob, bluespot brake calipers and Stainless hoses, Fournales air adjustable shock with Remote Resevoir, forks raised 10mm thru yokes, racetech linear fork springs in 15 wt oil, Kappa wingrack/luggage, heated grips, Kedo handguards, dual heat controller to power heated jacket liner and or pants!!, Stebel 136DB horn, K&N air filter, colour matched Baglux tank cover (magnetic tank bag modified to fit cover), osram +50% headloight bulbs, headlight protector,"NitramSpecial" parking loight, tail light indicators all running on LED's & incorporate "Lite Buddies", MK7 Scottoiler fitted, taller screen, 2-2 stainless steel CCC's, Devil stainless down pipes. MKI Renntec engine crash bars & sump guard.
engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.

just been watching sky active weather report for the w/e.RAIN in the WEST of scotland with 17 deg temp all over.Its a good job im coming up from 20+ deg & sunshine to meet a hardy(NO kissing) bunch of TDMers to have a very good time what ever the weather. Mr T c u @ 11am fri the rest when we get there.All ready to go bags packed bike fettled just waiting for Friday.

sorry for delay just back from Aberdeen re the Cabrach up to Dufftown hang a left (east) at the Square then a wee bit doon e road and then hang a right (south) on the A941 then 2/3rds down take a right onto the B9002 this then comes out near Lumsden on the A97 to Alford road. Hope this makes sence.

Greetings loons, I should be able to meet up with you on Saturday if you is dooing the route via Braemar. I know a lot depends on't weather etc as I found out last year and missed you all!
But if all goes to plan (yours dat is)
I'll hopefully meet you at the wee Cafe in Braemar - I'm guessing around 12:00 ish? (don't know the name of the cafe but - there's always a few bikes outside - ya can't miss it!).
We can have a wee cup'o'T and some cake and I'll follow your ride oot up towards Alford/Rhynie/Huntly?
Whatever - and then feck off hame! On a promise ? I wish!

Here's the ammended route courtesy of Bob. Looks like this could be the one as the forecast is better east of Aviemore - still not brill, bring yer waterproofs

I'll do a check tomorrow and post in here later on - but I have a feeling that there'll be a small entrance fee if you want to go round some of the large ones - I was at Glenfiddich a few weeks a go but it was all pre arranged and we just had a cuppa anyway.

Sounds good!
We could do the route clockwise (as BB suggested to take advantage of the weather ) and take in the Glenlivet in the morning, Alford Museaum in the afternoon and back by Glen Shee and Pitlochry..................

Well done - 3 great and very different routes. Glad to see the Lecht has been included in route 1 - interesting grades and cambers! That section down the East side of Loch Ness on route 2 is a nice choice - relatively quiet.

Whaddya think Nanook??Looks good to me..................where's the overnight stop
To get to the bunkhouse just take the ski road off the main drag through Aviemore then take first left. The bunkhouse is a few yards down on the left next door to the Old Bridge Inn.
