ok the crank is finally out biggrin.gif

after 2 hours of unbolting and 2 liters of sweat it out

now I have few questions:

- if crank pins have number 1 and rods number 3 than bearing is supposed to be black but here they were green

actually all bearings are green (bike has never been overhauled, i bought it from my uncle so it is positive)

the numbers on rods are 5 3 N ( 3 is in the middle ) so according to manual there were wrong bearings in it doubtfull.gif

also manual said that if the oil clearance is out of spec ( 0.1 mm) the bearing should be replaced but what color to use ??

case

crank with rods still on

2nd rod bearing ( the good one)

1st rod bearing ( notice the wear and damage)

complete assembly ( again notice the damage)

so my friends, what do u think about this paperweight of mine?

is it repairable or not?

Hard to tell from this distance but that depends if there are oversize shell bearings big enough once the damage is removed.

What you think is a 3 might be a B ....impossible to see from them there pics. Not sure where you are getting crankshaft code from? On the crankcase or from the crankshaft web? Don't suppose it matters too much if you need to repair yer crankshaft anyway.

the whole crankshaft assembly is sent to the machine shop and the guy was really optimistic

the code 11 232 is from the crankshaft web, I couldn't find the number on the casing

is it in the front of the lower case or ?

had to polish rod pins on crankshaft,
repair rods since both were pretty scratched ( put them into right measure)
find and installed new shells to those now oversized rods and undersized pins

BUT excl.gif have you found out why the bearings failed in the first place. Oil pressure? Oil Pump no good? ? Blocked oilway/pickup ? or just no oil. ohmy.gif

Whilst the engine is out check both pumps and the relief valve. any unusual bits of metal found in engine ?

picked up crankshaft. paid 160 euro for repair

mashinist had to take 2 tenth of milimeter from rod pins and rodīs and install new shellīs

i will plastiguage it to check the clearance.

the funny thing is that now a guy is offering me 1996 4tx engine for 125 euro so Iīm thinking of buying that as well but now there is a question:

- what do I have to change on bike frame to install 4tx engine?
should i change ignition coil or????

any piece of advice

That's what yer get for jumping in a thread halfway through, rolleyes.gif looks like he needs one of the oil pressure switches and light so he can see it has no oil next time. Still got four left.

There is some info on here somewhere, I think you might need the wiring loom, ecu/cdi unit and some messing about with the oil tank. The carbs are slightly different but may not be a problem.

I think TonyD might be able to tell you more. Sorry not much help really !
