Here's the site: http://www.blossompa...som_park_5.html
I've booked 10 bikes and 10 tents. No problem if there's more or less of us, we'll all be kept together in the pitch area set aside for us. Just turn up anytime and tell them you're camping it up with Mr K. If you want to pitch up and await the others then by all means hang around your tent for some action....
Otherwise, the golf clubhouse opposite the site has a good relationship with the campsite and holds guest ales. Last time I spoke to them it was Bombardier. At the moment it's The Reverend James on tap ABV 4.5% full bodied and warming, rich in palate, spicy and aromatic with a deeply satisfying finish. This premium ale has been described as having a "classic" flavour not commonly available these days. so I'll be at the clubhouse after pitching for a quick blessing and suggest we all gather there before getting a cab or walking into town. It's a 10minute walk at the most.
The campsite is also next door to the owner of Abergavenny cabs, so the owner will help us organise collection from wherever we end up in town back to the site on Friday/Saturday night.
The golf clubhouse will do us a deal too. A pint and a breakfast for £5. So more's the reason to sneak over for a jar to meet up and pay your Lady Godiver for your morning tucker. There's also the Abergavenny Bus Stop for anyone (Chris) still peckish after breakfast or wanting to pack sarnie's or have a snack at anytime. I think the Bus Stop is open 9:30am - 4:30pm ish. The Bus Stop is also a local bike meeting point and if you have a close look at the route map of favourite biking roads, you'll be treated to some sobering pointers....
And finally he'll do us all 1 man 1 bike 1 tent for a £5 a head! For anyone bringing a pillion that may be £7:50 or £10, not sure, did't check, but either way it's a good deal.
The route for Saturday:
ABERGAVENNY A40 TO A479 TO TALGARTH, LEFT ONTO B4560, FOLLOW TO A40, RIGHT ONTO A40, FOLLOW TO LLANFAES, LEFT ONTO A470, FOLLOW TO RIGHT HAND ONTO A4059, FOLLOW TO HIRWAUN, RIGHT ONTO A465, TO GLYN-NEATH & RIGHT ONTO A4109, BEAR RIGHT ONTO A4221, TO ABERCRAF ONTO A4067, TO GURNOS, RIGHT ONTO A4068 TO BRYNAMMAN, RIGHT ONTO A4069 TO LLANDOVERY, RIGHT ONTO A40 AND FOLLOW BACK TO ABERGAVENNY.
