Nah, I reproofed all my kit last week and bought a new pair of goretex boots, means it's bound to be 35 degrees and scorching.

Horses can choke very easily as the muscle around their esophagus is wayyy more efficent than humans which renders them unable to blow chunks.

Any plans afoot for the Saturday route yet?

If thinking of getting as far east as Banchory I know a nice route from Banchory to Stonehaven that will take us further east than last year but will take in a nice twisty route via Cairn o' Mont (for a quick camera stop) then via Fettercairn, then a bit of dual carriage way to Dunnotter Castle (photo stop & 15 min break) before a short ride to Stonehaven harbour (cake stop) before heading back to Banchory en route back to Aviemore.
if of interest I can post a route?

06 TDM 900 - gone but not forgotten.

Anyone coming north through Glasgow on the Friday?
If so, we can take the A82 Loch Lomond, Green Welly etc then either Loch Tay to Pitlochry or for the more adventurous we could do Glencoe, Fort William, Spean Bridge, Aviemore. (4hrs + stops) or someone might have another suggestion?
If not, I can head east and catch up with others near Edinburgh somewhere.

Don't know what the suggested routes are for the weekend so may be suggesting some roads that will be covered elsewhere.

I was working on something over that way but am struggling to find the time to ride the route. Would appreciate your input mate. The western route I'm thinking of is Aviemore A9 to Inverness then Tore, A832 to Muir of Ord and Marybank, A835 to Garve, A832 to Achnasheen and Gairloch, carry on on A832 to Aultbea and Kinlochewe, A835 back to Garve and then back to Inverness and Aviemore.

This route? - Linky - You may need to type in Gairloch into the "G" destination box then click "Get Directions" to get this link to work.
It's got to be 15 years since I did this route but it's a good one.

Just looking at the menu for Roo's Leap and saw this at the bottom can anyone explain why they do this?

Service charge is not included. For tables of more than
8 people an automatic charge of 10% will be levied.

I don't have a problem with tipping for good service, but why mandatory for larger parties?

Should we book smaller tables???

I'll maybe pop in here http://www.paparock.org/ and see if they can feed us?

That's the route! If it's good on the west side of the country I reckon we should do it; if the east is drier then we'll have an alternative as suggested by BIgBoat.

I agree Joe. The ride along Loch Maree and over Gairloch then round Gruinard will be a cracker, great riding country. Don't ask me about fuel / cake stops as it's been ages since my last visit but will ask a few mates for advice or possibly other members can chip in.

I took the road to Achnasheen on Monday (but turned to head for Loch Carron at Achnasheen)

Certainly on the Loch Carron bit there was a fair bit of resurfacing going on with those 'orrible loose stone chips. The local dont seem to give a monkeys about the limits on these bits either as a van and 2 cars went flying past me kicking minature missiles up in their wake.

D
Did I mention 135mph?

And that's official
