"Hey SR, don't give up on the TDM's - your contributions to the site are far too valuable."

Have to echo that (along with all the other comments)

Been a massive help to me......

That's bluddy terrible mate, I'm really sorry to read it. Given the bike's age I wouldn't have thought it was nicked to order, more to prove a point - i.e. the thieving scumbags consider everyone else's property as their own. Hopefully their arses will soon belong to Bubba.

Have the fuzz made any useful comments?

Haven't posted before now 'cause I just don't know what to say. You must be absolutely gutted, Ian. Don't give up on bikes because of some thieving toerags. It certainly wouldn't be the same round here without your input (and photoshopping), so you'll have to stay regardless of anything else.

Very bad news SR.

Some years ago we had a trio of inexpert chavs stealing cars by rolling them away from the house before attempting to start them up.
My son spotted them and we took a 'stroll' around, spotted them in action and phoned the Police.
On another occasion my neighbour phoned the police to report a car be tampered with at 3.00am; on both occasions the cars were left, albeit damaged.

That was some years ago, and no problems since so i am wondering if you are in a neighbourhood watch area, as it does seem to act as a deterrent.

So sorry to hear that. The second time in so many weeks.

It's such a horrible feeling when you know its gone.

We get far too attached to our bikes.

Hope you get it back again and find the scrouts who stole it.

Your contribution to this site and kindness is second to none. I can vouch for that.

There is nothing can be said that will make this any better!!
But eyes will be kept open!!

A man I know once came up with a solution though!!
Weld a spark plug boss in the under side of the tank, bolt in a plug and then when parked pul the plug lead on the plug in the tank!!
Ok you don't have bike after but there is one less parasite!!

I've had a good read of all your comments and....
I think if I gave up the biking I'd just be surrendering to the chavs an lowlifes, and I'm not gonna let that happen. I'd also have the problem of finding summat to fill the huge void in my life that the bikey bit takes up.

So, I'm gonna build a reeeeealy secure bike area, with lots of glass shards, hidden razorblades and other painful, but not life threatening, devices.

Second time around and it does feel personal and I'm angry more than I am upset.

That said, I deffo feel much better reading all your comments, tis muchly appreciated. wub.gif

Police, well what can I say, not knocking them at all but, there aint much they can do really. Another reason why I have to make the secure booby-trapped area smile.gif

I remember a few years ago there was a security device where you put a trip wire through a wheel of a bike, the other end was connected to a shot blank via s spring loaded anvil, the anvil would set off the blank with one hell on an explosion. dont know if they were legal.

What a fooker mate, really sorry to hear that. I've only been here 5 mins and you've already been a great help. Glad your not giving up, excellent forums like this are made by the input of people like yourself.
Ok, you must be blubbering by now so i'll shut up. The fookers will get what they derserve one day though ! (wrong bike-wrong time-wrong owner, if you get my drift)

On a similar note, perhaps rig up the ht leads to the bars, pegs or some other object that will give the thieves a shock (pun intended) when they try to start it up.

A water pistol filled with Piri Piri sauce mixed with ground and strained Habenero Chillis is useful too if you sqirt it in their eyes!

Total lunatic buddy of mine got really fed up of scrotes robbing his car and wrecking them ( so called joyriders).
He came up with the brilliant plan of taping a detonator cap to a large can of super strength CS gas. under drivers seat.

Unfortunately Brendan never realised that CS is very flammable.
Thieves came along, pushed car down the road a bit. Then flash and bang. Ball of flame, and the screaming starts.
Amazingly, no serious injuries. No hair or eyebrows on any of them for a long time.

There wasn't another car on that estate touched for a long time after.

SR - the world is full of scumbags, I met one on the way home again tonight, thats two in the last week. It wrecks my head but try not to let it get you all negative cause then they steal much more then your bike. A bit of planning and some ingenuous input from the lads will help you secure the bike next time. Once it becomes too much effort they will give up.
PS - A bit of dog-shit on the glass is very effective!

Time to call it a day with this biking lark methinks !

Bike has been stolen again, this time it was between 10.35pm and 2am.

Had an hour driving around the ususal chav haunts but no joy. Just as well I didn't find the thief as I'd probably be going to prison if I had.

I had 2 chains and a movement alarm fitted this time.

To be honest I'm that pissed off with it all I don't really care if it turns up or not, I just want to find out who nicked it.

what was it chained Too ???

they are legal if you do not cause injury with said device, and you own a firearms certificate. and its private land not within X metres of public walkways pavements etc ..

so nice as they are there are a hell of a lot of restrictions on use.

i like the idea of wiring it to the mains but having some (oops sorry) faulty bare cables lying on the floor. rotflmmfao.gif
