I now have itinerant variety of neighbours opposite and I am s*** scared they're watching me everytime I take it out of the garage. Old curtains thrown over the bike (as I do) are not going to fool them. You almost feel its a case of 'when' rather than 'if'.
I keep trying to think of devices; I do remember that there was an anti-rape squirter that gave out an absolutley vile, sickening stink (and there was an antidote for the victim too). May be I could rig that up somehow.

Sorry for your loss again SR.

Not sure if it would work in your area, but have you considered a personal door knock of neighbours with a photo of your TDM, ie you & a mate (for safety reasons).
Eyes alert, present yourself polite, calm & looking tidy (clothes like) and knock on neighbors doors and ask

Someone else may have seen something worth investigating more or tell you more on likely suspects.
I always find that a face to face talk can tell you a lot about a person & their life.

At least you will hopefully create more "friendly eyes" for the future.
Best wishes & don't give up, you're doing a fantastic job here helping so many, we need you Studley

We had a 999 day in the local park recently. I went along to see what freebies I could pick up. Got 1 of those card things to put in helmet that we all hope we will never need, plus some other bits and pieces.
One of them was a 'permanent u.v. marker'
I admit that it has gone in my desk drawer and I have just pulled it out now as I remembered it. One for marking all the 'bits'?? House number and post code??
My bike is also data tagged. Dunno how good that is?
Of course none of this will stop a tea bag and prob won't get the bike back even, but 'may' help track down who nicked it??

I used to have one of these attached to the bike cover on my first TDM after some little shit screw driver'ed the lock at the flats I used to live at. Works really good not only did it scare the little buggers off it woke every one in the flats.
TAM
These things are fantastic, have used one for many years on various things :- bikes, sheds, compound doors. They work great. Don't buy the blanks that they use they are expensive, just cut out the top bit of a normal cartridge(the detonater). Sorry to hear of your lose Studley will ask the Mantonites at work to keep their ears open.

I like the idea of this for my back garden. So buy the kit from there once and then just normal shotgun cartridges? Can a normal Joe like me buy shotgun cartridges??

With the nights getting colder it gives them the advantage as well...doubt they're clever enough to use nitrogen, in fact if they got any they probably wouldnt be nicking bikes, as they'd be at home freezing reefas or summit to amuse themselves.

That is just thoroughly evil and vile. Makes me more angry than the theft.
Very sorry to hear it Studley.
