Dude - that is utterly harsh & totally pointless.

I vote for a Carpe stake-out in SR's back garden with a dummy TDM, and wait for the little bollox to come back for 3rd's.

Then we can see just how clever he/they think they are!

There's enough of us to take shifts, and with no actual physical violence I bet we can make him/them never do it again!

Looks like is was burnt out before the rain yesterday, I'll find out when the police actually found it no doubt. They missed one piece....

Insurance engineer will contact me in a week or 2 to discuss the value, any tips there most appreciated.

Rest of the bike is at the recovery yard.....again.

As that's the wall to someone's house presumably the fire brigade/police were called at the time, in which case they seem to have abeen a bit slow off the mark letting you know they found it.

Can't see any evidence of the fire brigade attending at all. I was going to knock on some doors and ask some q's but they're all OAP's and probably wouldn't answer the door anyway.

Feckers! What a totally pointless thing to do. Stuff like this really annoys me.

It does give the impression that someone's done it to be vindictive, though. Have you upset anyone (can't see it myself)?

Those pictures nearly reduced me to tears.

How can anyone do that to someone, I know some folk think "it's just a bike", but it's a loved bike, a travel companion, a friend that has shared a million laughs, has been the thing to turn to in times of stress and in times of joy.

Bastards the lot of em.

yep so sorry, it does seem to have a personal look about it. These people care for nothing and nobody, burning the bike and somebody else's wall. These people put themselves outside humanity. Those on here who said they should not be shot, should be truly ashamed with themselves, it is these do gooders that have paved our road to hell

Insurance engineer will contact me in a week or 2 to discuss the value, any tips there most appreciated.

Although there are endless tales of insurance evalutaions being a rip off, refuse first offer and beat them up etc, I've had a car and a bike written off in the last couple of years and that wasn't my experience so don't neccessarily be on the offensive. On both occassions had a down to earth engineer call and chat about the vehicle, in the case of the car I was happy to accept £600 having paid £500 for it a year before, but he beat me up to £700 (yes you read that right). In the case of my CCM he recalled how the recovery garage people had said how shocked & upset I was at the state of the bike and that I couldn't recognise it due to it's deteriation in condition in just a couple of weeks of her being AWOL. There weren't many examples for sale so we browsed ebay and autotrader simultaneously looking at similar examples and came up with £2900, pretty fair for 2 years use, I'd bought the bike for £3500 at a month old with only 500 miles on the clock. Even casting my mind back to my FZ750 being nicked in the 80s, the insurance paid out what i paid for her cash.

Didn't have to take extras into account though, that I can imagine is going to be a harder debate.

Good luck Studley, glad to see you are already hunting for a replacement. If there is anything me or Onanist can do just shout, we're not far away so if you want a lift to view/pick a bike up we'd be honoured to assist.
