My TDM :
Black 1991 850 MK1, 160k+ miles(ish, best guess really, gave up trying to keep count after 3rd set of clocks and 3rd engine), PilotRoad2 tyres, custom stubby exhaust system, bluespot calipers & goodridge braided hoses with dunlopads, maxton forks, Ohlins shock, kedo handguards, stainless TDM grill, Scottoiler with lubetube & dual nozzle thingy, Givi Wingrack2 with E45 & 2xE36s, renntec crash bars, Autocom with blueteeth & PMR radio, TomTom Rider2, Optimate IIIsp, Bagster tank cover, anti-dazzle coating
to fit : led spotlights, heated grips, new braided lines and rear caliper that actually has bleed nipples
Silver-ish 2003 900, 70k miles, PilotRoad3 front tyre (new@65k) & PR2 rear(new at 69k), Renthal 755 bars with KTM handguards, oxford unheated grips, power commander 3usb, scorpion titanium exhausts, standard screen with vario winglet thingy, stainless grill, oem centre stand, bagster tank cover, givi monokey topplate mounted on grabrail with V46 topbox, Givi PL pannier rails with E21s, crash bungs, mirror extender thingys, Halfords Advanced Laser Blue brillance bulbs, 21w led spotlights, touring scottoiler with leehenty dual nozzle, Autocom with blueteeth & PMR radio, TomTom Rider3 Urban, winter style anti-dazzle coating

Yup we're still in, me and the boy, my mates coming on his VFR possibly + 1.
We've not booked anything and we're just going to play it by ear, quite happy to camp.

This trip will be fantastic and its great to see so many committed to going as the German guys really treat you well, a few of us had a really good time there a couple of years back.
Also, don't know if some of you are interested but cats and me were talking yesterday about going via the Alps and the Stelvio pass on the trip home and making a really good tour back. However, appreciate that not all can get the time off work or permission from SWMBO.

Will probably camp - so no accom to reserve

Wednesday 22nd June ride down to Dover for dinner time ferry to Dunkirk Link to Norfolk line £42 return 2hr crossing, then ride to over night stop, near Mons where my great granfather died, grave unkown but narrowed it to two cemetaries.
Thursday 23rd June ride to Masserberg
Monday 27th June leave Masserberg and travel to overnight stop
Tuesday 28th ride to Dunkirk, ferry to Dover, Ride home.
Ormskirk to Dover 293 miles
Dunkirk to Masserberg 488 miles
What has amazed me is that Norfolk line is £42

Not sure of the others , tried P&Ham, and Sea France, dates not available.
The chunnel is the same, not available.
Will be taking three days holiday one week and Two the next, if I push it, might take wednesday off aswell, to unpack.
So thats my thoughts.
Might try and book the ferry this weekend, if its that cheap.
I must make my mind up, above was origonal plan , but I am tempted to go on to Auschwitz ? 480 mile and would add 3 days to the trip.

I'd be interested in going to Auschwitz if we could do it before Germany as I have to be back at work on the 30th. Could leave on Saturday 18th. I've been to Terezin (Theresienstadt) and Bergen-Belsen before but never managed Auschwitz. Would be happy to camp if necessary.
Also just checked Eurotunnel and got a price of £50, which I thought was pretty good.

i've been to the Alps on the bike 4 times in the last 5years, for that and other reasons i wont be going back for a while

time to head east instead

ps. my 2012 tour will be a week or2 doing a lap of the Baltic, RTT12 Norway anyone?
If can't arrange a g2g before xmas, maybe just after?
i'm doing week on/week off 24/7 at the mo, so chances of me making it west of london are pretty slim
maybe we could do an xmas meet at the Ace

and Like ChrisG I want to do all of them.
But will probably do none, as it adds too much time to the overall trip.
With 4 days in germany and 2 days either side for travel, a good week is using up all my brownie points.
So I'm booking the ferry tonight for
22nd June 12.00 noon 'ish and 28th June noon'ish , Dover to Dunkirk.
Deffo going to get a satnav !

there aint any speed cameras that work on vehicles that are cornering (other than vascar and even thats not great on the tight twisty stuff)
so i've switched to being good on the straights and going flat out round the bends, its led to some interesting tyre wear but i'm starting to get used to drifting

anyway, back on topic....
for folks that only have a 1 week pass ....dont forget the MT11 runs until the sunday, so unless you want to pin the throttle wide open and sit on motorways you aint gonna get back for a ferry before tuesday 28th
