Studley,

What dimensions are the three 8mm bolt holes from each other, found myself a 3/4 inch thick pipe blanking plate about 6 inch diameter, might make myself a big hefty one by drilling and tapping the plate for the centre bolt.

Are you gonna post your technical scribblings re your design ?

66mm Lee. Each 8mm bolt hole is 38mm from rotor bolt.

Assuming I've got the measurements correct and my puller is made as requested, I'll post up a photo of it, along with the dimensions.

Puller will be ready to collect this afternoon yahoo.gif

I'nt it just sad.gif

Goddam stoopid thing, whoever designed this piece o crap deserves to be sh............. eh, oh yeah, it were me unsure.gif

Hold me hands up to this happening, I should have gotten me some longer 8mm bolts. sorry.gif

The puller should have been fitted with the nut closest to the crank so that it would push against the plate. Unfortunately, this wasn't possible as the 8mm bolts weren't long enough to allow this to happen.

Sooooooo, I turned the plate over so's I could use the bolts, not really thinking that the weld might crack.

The bolt thread has also caught the plate and it's trashed the nut & bolt.............Grinderman to the rescue !

On the positive, my measurements were spot on and the 10mm plate (cost £8) is sufficient smile.gif

Plan B - get another (bigger ?) nut & bolt and some longer 8mm 12.9 allen bolts.

Got any details of the one you use pleeeeease, a lot of 'em don't look as though the feet would be long enough, or they're too thick.

Pooh, that ain't welded mate, looks like pigeon poop, weld should bite into nut should have a decent weld all the way round the nut. Welder should have turned up the current and feed a bit. Why didn't they tap the plate the same thread as nut to give lots of pulling area ?

Of course it is easy to sit here and advise with a workshop full of kit, keep at it Studley plan B ought to work. How tight can it be ?
