Look at one of the first photos. I just fitted a u-shaped brace in the screw holding the muffler, and it connects to this black brace in the back of the plate. So when I hit something, it just flexes, not braking the exhaust or the plate.

Nice Kyotoviking,

Simple, effective and good looking fitment. I like the u bracket too acting as a crumple zone for more serious bashes.

Thanks for sharing, Rich

Well, I think I'm gonna do some bashing, so I will just leave it. I will also move the rear mount one centimeter forward. As it is now, it's in conflict with the bolt to the exhaust.

Hmmm, how much do you think it's worth? Could try to make a couple, but then I need some orders. And some ideas about how to get paid. Paypal?

I think the biggest issue might be shipping. Like the Tiger screens cost almost as much on shipping as the screen itself. Hope I'm wrong.

yep.. from Japan to other side of the world.. shipping would be killer.. especially for big heavy items..

btw.. kyotoviking.. dont you use main stand ? i notice the rear mount screw would be using the main stand mount screw-hole.

Maybe slow (boat) shipping is an idea? I'm getting a SW-motech senter stand and a Givi crash bar, now shipping from germany. Cost just 40 euro up to 10 kg.

I don't know about the screw-hole you are talking about. I'm using the same screw as the one holding the exhaust. Will do some more adjustments when I get the chrash bar and the stand, and make a couple for sale here on Carpe.

Everything is fine here, thanks.

I live in Kobe, so it's pretty far away from these disasters. Just moved here, and put a givi engine guard and a sw-motech center stand on the bike. Have to do some thinking and cutting to get the skid plate back on the bike.

I'm looking for a bash plate for a TDM900A from 2009.

Does any manufacturer sell these? Or did anyone make on for himself?
