I'm with Hartside, Posting on Facebook without telling us all the story!!

Edit: Off the phone to Tony

Tiff (Yam Divvy) lost the bolt to the gear linkage

Hutch ran out of fuel

Fatchap lost a bolt to the exhuast

And Tony's Exhaust did it's usual party trick and fell off

They are at Lock Ness, doing a medium tour today of 150/180 miles

Some of them are soaked, others took decent wet gear

Report over!

Welll that's me home after a rather blowy ride down from Aviemore via Cock Bridge, Tomintoul, Braemar. Parted company with ChrisG at Stirling services, don't envy him the ride south.
Coming through Glenshee the weather was crap but fortunately we thought it was coming and donned the waterproofs.

Overall another great weekend and a great bunch of guys. good.gif Think I have contracted Pete7's lurgy as I'm full of snot as is the inside of my helmet!! ohmy.gif

Bike ran ok with the odd misfire and a bimbling idiot piloting it.

Good luck to the guys who are camping on Tongue tonight, you'll bloody need it and Tiff with a single skin one man tent!

Hawick-Kielder-Alston-Ulleswater was a bit like Glenshee on and off. I got outrun up the north side of Hartside by a Freelander, though in my defence I think the fact that's he's got 4wd, windscreen wipers, and a lot more weight probably helped biggrin.gif

There was only the 8 of us this year but it was still a good weekend. Hopefully we will get better weather next year and a few more "locals".
Was booked in for tonight but made a dash for it before the weather closed in. Got a mate who is in Skye tonight and says it's wild. I sincerely hope Tony, Hutch and Tiff don't get blown away and poor old Fatchap is making his way down tomorrow too!!

Just got back this afternoon having stayed at Edinburgh last night at Alan's. We went to east Fortune to watch the Steve Hislop Race in the afternoon. I had forgotten how much more watch-able fun there is in club racing compared to international repetition.

It was a 'challenging' (to say the least) ride back today with mega-gusts as I went down A7, and then passing over Shap Summit on M6 at about 45
deg leaning into the wind.

Thanks to everyone who turned up for a great weekend - great roads and scenery, and fantastic company. What more do you need? (a more placid ride home would help - haha!)

Will post pictures as soon as possible

I was a bit upset at missing out on this year's G2G and not having the chance to hang out with you guys(and gal) but reading the comments about the weather conditions has made it a little easier to bear. Hope everyone had a good time and got home safe and shiny side up. Looking forward to seeing the gang next year.

Cheers from a very warm(35C) and sunny Turkey,

Johnny W

Just arrived back home. 4.30. 392 miles of driving rain, howling wind, flooded roads. Why do we bother? Cos it's fun.

Tell Tiff I'm home safe so she doesn't have to throw herself in a ditch in sympathy.

Great weekend, thanks to everyone for their company.

See you all next year.

Nice photos Pete, though the morning coffee shot is a bit scary laugh.gif

I managed to forget my camera on Saturday's run, and never even got it out of my tank bag on the days I did have it with me, so only a few phone shots from me.

Fatchap (Colin) decides to give 4 wheels a go

I stayed at the bunkhouse at Brotherswater in the lake district on Sunday night, this was the view on Monday morning as I set off over Kirkstone pass

I did take some video when the weather was reasonable so I'll edit something together, however a quick screenshot of "Fatchap corner" near Cock Bridge, it's now becomes a 30 limit the corner before, and a 20 limit here, though the 20 is presumably due to the roadworks round the corner where they're putting in a new bridge. We didn't stop to check for bits of bike though.

Great photos Pete, pity about the weather though.
Out of interest, how did the Youth Hostel compare with the Bunkhouse?
