QUOTE(Margus @ Wed 28th Dec 2011, 05:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'm gonna sandblast it and repaint it black.

Some important questions:

Is that food in the jars to keep you going?

Does the radiator work to keep you and the bike warm?

Good work fella great to see someone go at a rebuild like this and to be so thorough good.gif

My mk1 was green originally smile.gif

But I soon saw sense and changed it to the best colour biggrin.gif

That said, my green wan also had a flippin big girly pink stripe along it. puke.gif

I like the green in your photo though, and the black frame is a better contrasting colour than grey or silver good.gif

Today:
Reconnected swingarm, frame and oil tank (also repainted it).

Welded a bit:

I also adjusted valve's. 5 shims needed to be replaced.
And I extended my sidestand for about 1,5cm and made the bottom plate a bit bigger.
Pictures tomorrow.

Nice work! It has given me the motivation to do something about my bike. Keep posting pictures...

What paint did you use on the engine?

And to everyone: How heat resistant does it have to be? Have there been a problem of engine heat after repaint?

cheers,

I used Dupli-color heat resistant paint. It said 690C max temperature on the can, but you actually dont't need more than 150C heat resistance.
