Hey Margus, nice build! I really like the shift indicator work you did. yeahbaby.gif Looks like you're having a good time with the hole process. tup.gif

I was looking at the carb run up vid and was noticing that the right carb throttle slide is open a lot more than the left. Possible out of sync carbs, left carb/intake vacuum leak, pin holes/crack in the left diaphragm, or left cylinder valve adjust way out.

Looking forward to the full paint scheme coming up.

Rich

Yes I noticed it too. Will sync my carbs and then investigate further more about the cause.

Haha. First ride of this year:
It was -1C outside- Perfect tongue.gif

About the front sprocet nut: As spring in Estonia is almost here, I decided that I will properly repair the output shaft next winter. So today I welded the nut back to the shaft unsure.gif

As I dont have original headlights on my TDM (I think they belong tocYamaha FZR600 ) and they didn't look very good, I added a little plastic:
At first:

After:

And started to bild bashplate (at first out of cardboard ofcourse biggrin.gif)

Today I added an oil preassure switch. I chose this location because it is the furthest place where oil preassure has to reach, so if oil preassure should ever dissapear, it is the first place where it will hapen. Also there was M8 threaded hole in there.
I bought an oil preassure switch whitch had M10x1 thread on it, so I had to rethread it.
Sorry my Iphone does'nt make good pictures...

Had to grind off engin rib a bit to make it fit: (pic is in a wrong angle...sorry)

I am afraid that not enought oil pressure on that cylinder head hole it waisted for camshaft oiling and line was devided between camshafts, it will not engage your switch. Why you did not put it to that line where oil going to head?

Check manual, you will see all oil lines there

Yes oil is under preassure in there. It is a oil pressure channel. I looked into them when I adjusted the valves.
I will test it in this weekend whether the oil pressure switch works in there or not.

Must be different to mk2 other side of that bolt just leads to a well in the head ..... still sure it would never operate a pressure switch, hope im wrong

Margus is right actually Dave. Just looked at a mk1 and a mk2 head and you can see the line the oil feed pipe takes from the oil pressure check bolt from the outside. You'll also notice that it branches off twice, this is where the pipe feeds the 2 cam bearings and the pipe ends at the 3rd cam bearing. smile.gif

I'm not sure if the pressure switch would work or not though, there seems to be very little pressure when the oil dribbles out of the bolt hole. unsure.gif

Quick question about adjusting fuel levels (carb float levels) on my MK1.
Does carbs have to be monted on the endine for the fuel levelt to be measured or do I have to lay it on a table to measure it?

yes, do it mounted on the engine. Place a it of clear tube on the carb drain nipple, then note the fuel height in the tube.
