I have also worked out how to display my routes on Google Earth by saving as .kmz file or summat. Does anyone know how to remove these so Google Earth forgets them again? Google earth has some of my bizarre mishap routes and I cant seem to make it forget them even though they are gone from mapsource. EDIT: sorted. Just point and click in Google Earth, easy as that. Though I would have to delete cache or zummat.

Nearly at the EuroVelo one stage now which is a much easier point and click deal.
The Euromap doesn't have as much detail as my cycle one but from the little bit of testing I have managed to do it seems like the "detour" is at least partially due to the map.

Unless they come up with some cunning euro travel thing afore I depart:
O2 Travel for Pay Monthly customers
Relax. From July you can use your mobile in Europe without worrying about huge bills. Talk for longer and use the web without worrying about over spending. Now you're in control.
How does O2 Travel work?
•You'll only be charged £1.99 for the days that you use data in Europe - and you can use up to 25MB a day.
•There's a connection charge of 50p for all calls made and received in Europe. When you make a call you'll be using your UK minutes and calls received are free up to 60 minutes. Terms apply.
Relax they say REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE LAXXXXXXXXXXX .....they made me do all that GPS stuff and now they tell me.

Yes you can, well on Android anyway. Mine has just updated Google Maps and Navigation and there seems to be a few new features

How please? I've not figured that out yet. Navigation works well, as do the maps, but I haven't figured out how to get the two to talk to each other for a pre planned route. I have the latest maps and nav software (Android on one phone and Nokia Belle on another).

Luckily the clever peeps who fixed Garmin's via point editing glitch for them also fixed their not able to follow a route made with their own software glitch. In the very same program in fact (see above). It means you can then save as a track, so you lose any direction info but at least you get to use your own route and if you have a decent interweb connection then the direction info can also be saved by eliminating the Garmin software and plotting the route on BikeRouteToaster or similar.
Choose car / motorcycle and "fastest route".
Do not use evasions.
Set a waypoint on the start and finish.
Perhaps also add WPs on mountain passes or streets in beautiful forests.
Select the arrow as a tool.
Choose the route with the arrow and drag the line to the streets, drive want to get. Pull the line out of the streets, which you want to avoid.
The most pleasant road I choose to support a paper map or Online Map http://www.viamichelin.de/web/map
Where you have 80% of your fuel consumption will, to zoom the map to 700m at the highest level of detail and looking for a gas station along the way. Mark a waypoint for each two stations in this area.
If you're hungry, or want to drink coffee, you will always find a guest house that you like.
I also use bakery or discount stores with bakeries.

Lucky you. I just recieved a similar text from Vodaphone, they're changing from £1.67+VAT per day to £0.58+VAT per MB. I can't see that being cheaper for many people
On google maps on my Android phone, if I go Menu-Settings-Labs I get the option to pre chache areas of the map. It seems to store preplanned routes as layers on the map dunno how to then get that in Navigate mode though.

That will be beeeeeeeeeeeeeer.
Aggrozzle. Would defo not be using this but nice to have a backup for emergencies....like not seen a cake shop for 24 hours or summat.
Seems that the standalone GPS has limited pluses over the phones these days. The main one seems to be data roaming charges. Without those I would def use the phone over GPS.

Same here - I must be doing something wrong! As soon as I hit the navigate icon it asks for destinations etc and the layer has gone.

Ahhh clever clever stuff. Now have new phone and lots of areas with no signal....it switches to GPS and still shows you as the little arrow thingy
Does anyone know how I go about cacheing maperoonies to my phone please and spank you? Just Espain and France is all.
If cacherising is possible then oil look at overlapping my route but wondering since it was plotted on the velomap maps if this will work on the Googlies.
