I don't reckon there is anything to worry about dabbers as the latest news seems to point towards a contract killing. Anyhow, I'd be more frightened about riding through some parts of London, even in broad daylight, than I would around Annecy; plus I always take the view that when your time is up there's nowt you can do about it ....
Now on 9er number 2 .....

I was only saying to my wife the day before this happened what with all the unemployment in Spain and now France we will have to be alot more careful as it is now more likely that someone will want what we have.

My friend was robbed in a layby when he was having a rest, he didn't even know they had got into his camper van.

The favourite one is to feign an accident or indicate there is something wrong with you vehicle, anything to make you stop out in the open so they can rob you. This is going to happen more often.

How it will affect motorcyclists I don't know but we do carry everything on the outside of the bike. We just need to be more vigilant and know the vehicle is OK so we don't fall for their tricks.

My wife and I do the 600 miles from Calais to St Antonin two or three time a year and have been OK so far but there are places I wouldn't stop if there was only one or two cars there, I'm talking about the toilet/rest places on the A routes.

Aggrozzle with SL. I cycled through Spain and France with all of my worldy goods carried unlocked on the side of my bike and sleeping rough in a tent with no locks and with all my very valuable worldy goods still unlocked on the side of my bike without a single issue. I would certainly not be more worried thur than ear...and a dose of common sense works wonders.

Enjoy yer trip lucky peeps.

I suspect the number of people shot in France is still way below the number killed in motorcycle accidents...

to me there is far too much government interest in the story, plus the fact there was a large team of paramilitary representatives that arrived from the british embassy very quickly after the massacre,my thoughts is that the family rift is a red herring, he had links as a iraqi satellite photographer, I wonder what he saw?, to me it has government agency / David Kelly undertones all over it.

Seems a bit strange with the French cyclist getting killed as well, that wouldn't go down well with the French government if you're right. Unless of course they use it to screw the UK gov over something or other.

£36 for the room Dave, if there's any hold up I'll send you a text if you let me know your number. Just been watching the news, the French cops were riding white TDMs. Better keep an eye on Martin!
