My research so far is moving me towards a wingrack (does any one have some photo's of one one a 900), and a Givi V46 or Kappa K46 (the same I am lead to believe) teamed up with some side cases.
I like the idea of the nice slim top opening E21 but I am doubtfully if they will be big enough.
I look forward to your insight and experiences.
Oh by the way Happy New Year (ooh my head).
Vario touring screen, Stainless Steel Rad Guard,
Still in the shed:- BMW Hand Guards, Heated Grips, Aux Lamps.

I think Krauser K2 luggage would rock. Nice and slim to keep filtering easy but each holds 30 liters. I had some on my Fazer, here's a couple pics. Might put a set on the TDM.

I had the same K2's on my Diversion back in 1992 and thought they were well made, my only gripe was the "door" was smaller than the pannier, which ment some longer objects like tent poles would not fit.
Other wise the held a shed load including my tools that weighed more than the max load whilst I was jobbing on sites for a whilst.
The K5 top box mounting on prev post looks interesting may think about that one if I have to go down the route of getting a topbox.

Hi Andy, have you considered sw motech for fixing the givi or knapa cases it is a lot neater than a givi wingrack and it can be removed in seconds

Aye, depending on your vanity, SW Motech look a lot better than Givi framework.
Anyone else think that Givi make a habit out of ruining the looks of bikes?

Depends on the bike. The new sidecase kit of Givi (saw it live on the intermot in Munich on a FJR, forgot to take a pic though) is very nice though:

Unfortunately the V35 sidecase holder looks terrible, with a very high topplate mount:

Hopefully SW Motech will make a nice kit for the V35 - TDM900 combination as well.

That's the minus side of the door design but it has a plus side as well. You can bungee long or bulky objects to the tops of the cases and still have unhindered access to stuff inside the cases. Can't do that with clamshell type panniers.

I don't particularly like the Wingrack on the TDM, it looks too big. I much prefer the tubular racks.
I didn't realise you could get Krauser for the TDM... that's an option I may look at.

Funny you say that becuase thats were my tent poles ended up being stored. They were good panniers one of mine even survived falling off on the M8 did not notice it at time. Got returned to me by the police as I had ingraved my postcode and bike reg on the back. only had a few scapes still worked and were watertight.
