Can you update on cheqs received.. I’m anxious that mine arrived.. xmas is not a good time to guarantee anything... especially the spelling... I’m over in Selby after a 60 mile journey from Skipton to see the Bro.. to take his mind off everything I’m letting him fit my heated grips... as well as this I popped into BMW store to see about handgaurds but they were shut.. Tomorrow I'm off to Starbeck in Harrogate to see the Suzuki shop about Vstrom handgaurds... is all this worth it, I do not know, but when you get people like Andy sticking their neck out then it’s got to be... Cheers again for your endeavour and I hope we can report back some good info to change how we battle the elements.

Thanks Andy - my winglet arrived safely this morning yahoo.gif
Well padded package, proudly carrying a Carpe label - excellent stuff! good.gif

Here again are the fitting instructions for anyone who's lost them.

The German notes with the winglet don't seem to add much - my rough translation (Feel free to correct) goes like:

1 Place the winglet centrally and fix e.g. with adhesive tape.

2 Since the hinge mounts are angled, care must be taken to offset the position of the holes. It is advised to use the outer edges of the mounts to set the positions. In that way the offsets can be kept in line. See sketch below.

3 Check: the distance between the marked mounting points on either side should be 40 mm.

4 When drilling the holes, a wood bit (with central point) should be used. Drill the screen with little pressure.

Will scan notes and diagram - see later posting

Cheers Pict
Do any one want a second hand brain (not good for much)! I had planned to include a copy of the instructions with each one. Durrr.
I will stick them in with the rest.
On that point do not worry if you have not received yours yet I posted Pict's first to check the postage, the rest will go out soon.
If anyone else wants one I have a couple of extras to hand, so don't be shy.

4 When drilling the holes, a wood bit (with central point) should be used. Drill the screen with little pressure.

I can not advise to strongly that you use as little pressure as possible and make sure that you have a sacrificial piece of wood pressed firmly to the back of the screen to prevent cracking as the drill bit emerges.
You may find you get a cleaner hole if you start off with a small pilot hole then drill the proper size only part way through before turning the screen over an finishing off from the other side.
