Great, my man! smile.gif

STAINTUNE or LASER...? I'm still a bit confused... gotta admit that...

You lucky guys down under, BTW! Summer and all... All we got is the cold, the rain (yes! it's raining up here in Norway - no snow to talk of...) and slippery roads. They're icy all over the place at the moment...

And the spring is more than two moths away! ranting.gif

Video of pair of Lasers on TRX850 (same thing as TDM850 basically), sounds like no-db killers to me:

One have to make a choice between a few alternatives. And mine is still LASER and STAINTUNE...
Much because both looks good on TDM and because both makes does not interfere with original Yamaha panniers. Both have good specs as well and both makes have been in the business a while already...

My Superpoles go fine with my centerstand and Yamaha bags. Their website also says they work with an importer in Norway, have you checked that?

All their advertising is mouth to mouth, via online forums mostly. They have a lot of motorclubs visiting and have a lot of forum topics (one topic on Motor-forum is now at 15 pages) linked about them on their site (still only the Dutch ones though), their service and quality is excellent.

As said, Lasers are very popular here. Maybe because they're Dutch, probably because they were generally the cheaper ones. That having said, I remember a marktplaats ad with a pair of laser duotech titaniums for TDM900 for sale because the guy wanted Superpoles (money to burn perhaps?).

I would be curious to the sound of Devil pipes, they sounds nice on beemers apparently. But I'm guessing they don't come in street legal versions...

I can not find any TDM cans on the Beowolf site.

BEOWULF info: got this email from www.vyxxn.co.uk :

"Hi AJ

The Beowulf cans for the TDM are still in development at the moment so not yet available. I can supply a set of Quill which will fit but are slightly higher than the stock silencers so you would need to check how much clearance you have between the luggage and the silencers. As the cans are usually fitted without the luggage Quill can't guarantee that they will not contact the luggage.

hope this helps

Ok... I haven't decided which slip/bolt ons to go for yet. It will either be LASER Due-Tech Inox or STAINTUNE.

I've read many testimonials from happy Staintune customers, but testimonials on LASER is harder to find...

So if there are any LASER TDM'ers on this forum; care to share your experiences with me, be it good or bad...?

LASER looks cool...

I've had a couple Staintunes and Lasers, though not on TDMs. The Staintunes are built much better, about as tough as a stainless OEM pipe. One Laser I had fell apart, the other was too loud so I sold it. The strike against the Staintune is that the steel baffles inside the can (which help it last so long) also gave the exhaust note a metallic edge. The DB killer also contributed to this metallic sound but it was necessary imo as the pipe was very loud without it.

Is there no one that has Sebring mufflers on their bike? (Except me of course...)
I have Sebring Twister slip ons and am very happy with them. I've been complemented a number of times for their nice sound, even when I have the dB-killers inserted. good.gif

Just to give another alternative and make the decision more difficult laugh.gif

Your SEBRING cans looks good on your steed. I could easily have choosen these for mine, but as far as I know there's no SEBRING retailer here in Norway.
You bought them in Sweden, right? What did they cost? A lot cheaper than here in Norway I think. Anything else would surprise me...

I bought them in Sweden (September 2004) and should have paid aprox. 1 000 EUR for the pair, but got 20% off. A pair of Akras would have been even more expensive.

And they seem to be a little bit longer than the originals also ..

By the way,
One of my selection criterias was the side case room reguirement .

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like cans mounted with straps.

SEBRING, STAINTUNE and LASER are all different (bolted with a fixed plate), more in line with the origimal setup.
Looks nicer IMHO.
