...... Bagster tank cover. How much do those sell for in England?

Sorry to butt in - here's an example at about £70 (~$150US).

Soundbite is more like it, Mr. S. Can we have a passing shot at about 5000rpm? yeahyeahyeah.gif
Now if Andy K can get a collective deal on about a dozen in time for RTT07...... smile.gif

I think they are around the £80-£100 mark new, I am sure one of the other members will have a link to the appropriate website? They regularly go on ebay for anything from £30-£60.

Nice sound from those Aka's, MSN good.gif . Very loud as well, I'm guessing this is a bit what a non EC approved superpole without the db killers must sound like. It also motivates me to see what mine would sound like without the killers, although I already know I'd put them back afterwards. A nice, but tiring and annoying sound I think when you ride around with them for a couple of minutes. Rode behind a V-strom with open Laser cans, but after 10 minutes I went to the back of the group to get rid of the constant noise.

Can you stand the sound when touring around or do you just wear really good earplugs? Or is it not as loud as it seems?

Not had a chance to do a long tour with them yet, you get used to them for shorter runs and day trips! I tried ear plugs, but they only seemed to make the sound echo more in my ears, which is unusual as I have worn ear plugs loads of times???

I would never put them on my TDM, as I don't want the neighbor pointing his shotgun at me when I get home late at night laugh.gif

But they are mounted on the MT03 that is standing in my garage at the moment (as a replacement for the 900 that is with the dealer for its 40k km maintenance) and those Akra's sound yeahyeahyeah.gif rockon.gif yeahyeahyeah.gif rockon.gif yeahyeahyeah.gif rockon.gif

I have Akra titanium (oval) slipons for my 900 (2004) which are definitely loud at and above about 4000 rpm, and are accordingly marked "not for road use". Lovely bits of metal, and the new bass "voice" (never mind the volume) that they give the bike is stunning. Have been a bit nervous of the local plod, though, and accordingly tiptoeing around at low revs when near civilisation. Not tried them on a long run yet, but I don't imagine they'd add any noise burden for the rider (Can't speak for pillion), especially over the old wind/turbulence issue. Mr satnav has carbon ones, I believe, so will probably comment. Can't guess whether Japanese views will be a problem - they seem to be such a mixture of officiousness and the opposite that it's hard to tell. The outlet pipes being 48 mm internal dia, DB killers from Staintune should fit, if you don't mind drilling holes in the cans' outlets sad.gif for the grubscrews. I have a pair, but they need a bit of engineering as they're just a shade too tight - the outlet welds seem (pun?) to be the issue, and so it looks like I need to grind a groove in the DBKs to suit. (Hopefully the ugly sods will then slip in out of sight - they're not a patch on the Serbian work). Hope this helps

PS I have friendly neighbours - so far.

Wondering if any AKRA users can do me a favour. After a low speed collision, my right Akra titanimum needed replacement (no other damage TG). The local shop ordered a pipe from the distibutor - but it's comes in at 47 cm - 4 cm longer than the one that got crushed (and the one on the left. How long are your pipes (outside of strap to outside of strap)? I can't seem to get an authoritative answer from the guys here in Singapore, nor the shop in Amsterdam where I bought them. If 43 cm is the correct length I may be able to do a swap.

Thanks,

motoboy900

Hi. My titanium ones seem to be 42.8cm - so 43cm in round figures. Bad luck with the damage sad.gif , but good luck with the restoration smile.gif

SEBRING, STAINTUNE, LASER are bolt-ons,right? And SUPERPOLE is a slip-on product, isn't that correct? If it's so I go for a bolt-on aftermarket exhaust - one that's road legal - and I have just ordered LASER Duo-Tech for my TDM.

AJ, have your new cans arrived? Pleased with them? You got photos for us?

New cans arrived a couple of weeks ago. A mechanic at the shop where the bike is winterized put them on the same day I delivered them.
Of obvious reasons I haven't tried the bike yet (it's midwinter up here right now... no conditions for bike riding fun, I'm afraid...), but the bike looks good - really good with Laser Duo-Tech!!
I seriously think that these are the best looking cans for TDM 900 smile.gif

Unfortunately no photo yet. My 19 year old daughter's gonna help me with that. As soon as the shot's been taken I'll try to put them up. I'll let you know when it's done.
