For myself I would be afraid this screen would be too low on the sides, so too much airblast pushing against the shoulders. Perhaps you can compose a comparison picture of all your screens next to each other?

Sure I can - as soon as the rain stops up here in Norway... It's been raining almost nonstop a week now and right now it's pouring down again outside my window...
And, you know what, E-njoy; please don't ask any more questions. Just let me keep on with what I'm doing, ok? As I said before; I can afford to buy a few screens, I like to experiment a little and I like to change my bike's apperance with new screens.
Just be happy if my screen experiments is useful info for you. If it's not, just ignore it, ok? And keep comments like "Couldn't you just have drilled those holes in your MRA / Secdem?" to yourself.
But sure I can answer you question: I want to keep them as they are because they're not bad at all as they are. Beside, if I were to modify them both or one of them by drilling holes in them it would probably be an experiment that fails. What if the drill slips and make scratches or cracks in the screen? How useful do you think it would be then? I don't wanna take chances like that. I can afford the screens, yes. But I'm not a fan of throwing money out the window... if you know what I mean?

Wait for pictures of all the screens lined up and look for yourself. Then your're welcome to ask as many questions about them as you want, ok?
All I'm interested in is to share my experience as good as I can - not bragging about how many screens I own...

If the drill slips you can always buy a new screen, perhaps an Ermax or so

Well, I just want to take good pictures outside in the sun. That's all

But when it comes to taking pictures of the screens I prefer to do that when the weather conditions is perfect. And I think you will appreciate that as soon as you get the chance to look at the photos...

Just be patient...

Screen experiment status:
Fitted the ERMAX screen to see how it looked on the bike. Took a couple of photos as well 'till the battery went out...
Have to charge the battery, then I will put up the pictures.
ERMAX was a big dissapointment

So now the SECDEM is back on the bike. It's a 98 % perfect fit (excellent considering it's a French product...), looks good and the weather protection behind is is also good. This is the tallest screen I have and the one that suits me best. I'm 184 cm (approx. 6 ft.).
MRA double bubble is a 100 % fit (as expected as it's manufactured in Germany...), it's shorter than SECDEM, the shape is a bit different; the bubble is bigger (raised higher up) and because of that it seems to smooth the wind out a little better than SECDEM.
SECDEM provides better wind protection, though.
I prefer this screen to the others for two main reason: 1. better protection against the wind. 2. The looks...
I will send the lousy ERMAX back to the retailer for a refund tomorrow... I big let down... I do NOT recommend this screen!! Go for SECDEM or MRA instead.
To be continued...

Ok, here are a few pics...
There should have been more light when I took the pictures. Better light would have shown better how lousy adapted the ERMAX screen is... I never roadtestet it beacuse of this and therefore I cannot tell anything about the effect of the drilled holes...

I guess we know now what makes this screen world famous, their amazing built quality?
Time to put the drill into the Secdem (or MRA db)

Anyone try out the Powerbronze double bubble (Airflow screen) for the TDM900?

I don't think I'm gonna drill holes in my SECDEM screen. It's good enough as it is, I think. Beside, drilling holes in it will change the looks in a way I wouldn't like... I think.
But since yo're asking; I actually own a POWERBRONZE db also

The size, shape and height (tallness) is about the same as ERMAX. It's also thicker, as is SECDEM and it's a good fit. The effect isn't bad either, as far as I remember (last time I used it was more than a month ago...).
If I get around to it this weekend I'll put it on again and take som pictures ans put up here, ok?

Sorry AJ i should probs read all the threads, but have you tried the super tall yamaha screen the +145 or so ??
to be honest after doing 800 miles in rather nasty weather, my converted givi screen with the wing on top still buffets my head quite a lot, the wing definately helps, (had time to try every angle for a while) the best position to be honest for protection in the rain was fully up. and when the rain stopped (not for very long) it was better at the first click from bottom.
putting 5mm bolts under the mounts did help slightly but the rain pisses up the inside and runs up and down the screen dribbling everywhere then spits off and splats on the visor (also with all the rain comes shite and covers the clocks and inside of the screen). the screen also wobbles a lot because it is not clamped down correctly.
if the weather is fine and i fancy a good blast around with little or no wind then the stock screen is great, although in the wet its crap.
i am 6foot 1 inch and am watching AJ's research with great interest (keep up the good work)

Another consideration may be the helmet type as well as differing helmets get buffeted diferently my hjc suffers a lot less than my caberg jusissimo v 1
could possibly be another avenue for testing (although a very expensive route )

take two pieces of cylindrically shaped foam- like substance, preferably the same length, various colours possible. Place one between your for finger and thumb, roll it into a point and shove it in your lug-hole. Repeat procedure for second orifice.
There, wasn't that useful
