Whereabouts are you heading for in the Dolomites?? Came back thru them on way back from Croatia last month, roads were amazing as was the scenery. Got address of hotel we stayed at in Arraba if you need it.

Just seen this !!!

Not actually sure where we are heading, so any advice or recommendations would be most welcome.

Two and half week holiday, starting off with 3 nights in the Black Forest, 2 nights in Interlaken, and then heading south east to the Dolomites, before heading back through Bavaria to the Hamburg area.

I have some tentative routes planned out, just need some advice from someone who has been as to the best places to go to or to stay at. We are looking for 3* hotels or B&Bs'.

PM me if easier, and we don't end up hijacking this thread.

Cheers for any info in advance.

Folks,

For those of us booked into the bunkhouse don't forget that yer 30 squids includes linen so you won't need to take sleeping bags. I'm not sure if it includes a towel but for those who have the occasional wash it won't be a problem to take yer own. Has anyone organised a rideout for the Saturday? We must have a local who can do this - surely?

Cheers,

Joe

I'll put my hand up and volunteer to backmarker. Got the hi-viz, white flip top helmet and blue bike, scares the sh*t out of dozy car drivers.

I've also plotted Tony's suggested route on Garmin and tried to attach it to this posting for those with a Garmin gps, but for some reason the site wont accept files of this type. Can anyone think of a work around?

Co-incidentally - I just stayed for 2 nights in Bellingham.

However, I stayed in the first site I came to which was a caravan club site at the entrance to the village (from the south). That was £22 per night - much too posh for us lot. But the roads around there were great.

3 pubs in the village - one of which did decent grub. There is also an hotel which is a bit more on the swanky nosh side.

The Demesne Farm sign was very small. It is near the petrol station.
