Is there anyone else out there want who wants to take the "Dales" route up.
What sort of time are you thinking of leaving, and from where in Skipton. I'm gonna stop near Melton Mowbray on Thursday night so I'm thinking 2.5 hours to Skipton and then a ride through the Dales could be in order. The route you posted looks good.

How about joining up at the Little Chef where the A65 and A59 meet, at the end of the Skipton bypass. Say about 12.30pm. Anyone else interested in meeting up there.

up into kielder and through (those that want to do the hislop memorial cal leave the route at slaughtree) those that want to continue further south can remain on the route through some cracking roads to canonbie then longtown to hartside (amazingroads) again anyone wanting to head south can leave at alston or indeed at penrith, or could carry on to kirkstone pass and leave at windemere / kendal, those heading for the ferry at stranraer can follow me down the struggle to ambleside and up to keswick over the caldbeck fells to carlisle then onto dumfries / stranraer.
here's a pic

Methinks it has something for everyone hope its favourable to all

If there's a space left in the wee bunkhouse I wouldn't mind swapping cos I can't get a decent night's sleep when there's a lot of farters/snorers around - and it's my 69th burfday

Yep - the price covers linen.
