If the plan for sunday is a route to allow people to split off heading in roughly the right direction for home, are many people heading South but in no hurry? I'm thinking I might give the Tomtom a good workout at B-road navigation and then find a campsite in the Yorkshire Dales or the Peak district on Sunday night for a lazy ride home on the Monday.

Looking at google maps it reckons splitting from the route Hartside man posted at Windamere, then a loop round Coniston and Windamere, Kendal, Hawes to Skipton would be 6 hours, anyone know how well google maps times compare to realistic motorbike times?

Anyone know a good route from the dales to the peak district? Skipton to Keighly looks a bit boring.

That was my original plan but it we're heading south on Sunday anyway I'm thinking splitting the journey means 2 days of interesting roads instead of 1 day of dual carriageway. Though it does mean carying all my gear on Sunday rather than leaving it at the campsite. Haven't really made my mind up yet unsure.gif I can make decisions, honest, er... sometimes...

We need Ynot tony to clarify the Saturday route looks like we have some duplicated roads "OOPS" for some reason the origonal post with tony's text route on has vanished (unless i have gone blind). I can think fo some good roads in the borders to keep us up in the scotch side "!" a fave of cupasoop springs to mind instead of the loop from st mary's to hartside how about across to moffat and around leadhills. Don't want to upset anyone though whats your thoughts (and is anyone really interested in the bhuddist place ? smile.gif come on ynot tony where are you smile.gif
