Given the anticipated illustrious company, and Brighton's sterling job, I wish to apologise in advance for my bike looking like the proverbial bucket of poo. No excuse that It's kept outside - it's been looking not bad till the past month or so. Have evicted the spiders that were bungeeing off the mirrors, but beyond that...... sorry.gif

Think my old mk1 will be up for the ' Pile of shoit '- ' Bucket of poo ' award.

Dropped it pushing it up the drive this morning and it crashed onto the neighbours slabs sad.gif

The end has snapped off the clutch lever , the offside mirror mount has snapped off and the paintwork has a nice rash!!

I'm not going to get it sorted in time so I'll need to go without mirrors and lever end.

Hope my plod colleagues are not too enthusiastic about construction and use issues.

The main bullit points of the route are

* Skipton
* Settle
* Hawes
* Appleby in West'
* Hartside
* Alston
* Hexham-ish
* Bellingham

Mileage - about 150 clicks from our house, so I guess about 110 from Skipton

Hartsideman

I've oulined the route above.

It might be worth us giving you a bell as we set off from Skipton then you could timetable a meet up point later in the afternoon

Once the red mist cleared I had another look and it's not as bad as first thought. It's actualy the brake lever ball end that's snapped off...nothing I can do about that. But there's enough thread left on the mirror mount to get a grip so it's back on.
The indicator was bust as well but I managed to fix that too......so it's all systems go , with a bit of scabby paintwork yahoo.gif

Not sure what is happening tomorrow.

looks like I wont be out soon enough in any case to get to skipton for 12.30 and if I get a second interview in the afternoon it will be 4-5pm before I could get off.

Will try and get up there tomorrow night, but it will be dark when I arrive.

Will probably find you lot in a pub ?

Keep an eye open for a grey haired geordie who looks a bit lost.

I bet the village is full of them...... blink.gif

I'm sure there'll still be pitches on the campsite, not sure about the bunkhouse, but I've got a suspicion there's still a bunk availabe in the four bedder unit.

check out the campsite here.....

Best bet is to fetch your tent and if there's a bunk free it's a bonus

By free I mean available, not no cost .

Just spoke to the guy on his mobile. I asked if he had any camping spaces left and he said he had a "vintage motor cycle club" staying but as he has an over flow field it should not be a problem. I wonder if the vintage is refering to members or bikes? laugh.gif
