well the GTT was a right hoot, i've never been on a rideout before where we stopped so frequently fer tea & cake, bacon rolls, chocolate, etc etc. jaysus we must have all put on a few poons weight !!! i'm still smiling and occassionally burst out in laughter at the thought of our booze fueled antics !! great to see some new faces at this meet aswell as some of the older ones too..... (AE). A big thank you to Joe fer organising the shindig and to Tony, AE, and udders too i'm sure for planning the ride out routes.

be the time we got home (with no assistance fron Carole Nash !!!!) No.7 and i had clocked up 2,074 miles.
i'm still laughing right now !!!! WiCkY

PS. i never contributed to Chris G fer the breakfast supplies and too Chris Larky fer the champers despite promising i would as i forgot !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've decided that on future G2G's I'll forget about testing the off-road ability of the TDM at 50mph on grass verges and stick to the black stuff instead blush.gif blush.gif . Will be changing my name to something more appropriate such as Grasscutter or The Haymaker. rotflmmfao.gif rotflmmfao.gif

Had a great weekend and thanks for organising it, Joe.

Finally made it home at 8:15 on Monday night.

As Tony and myself both had Monday off work we trailed Mark Dave and Chris to Ulleswater, checked in to the blockhouse at the Brotherswater Inn, dumped the luggage and headed west. Passed that yellow Mk2 and his mate on the Varedero that we'd met in Skipton on Wrynose pass (assuming he didn't recognise us from Friday he's probably still in shock at the number of TDMs he's seen this weekend), then I discovered why I'd been advised to dump the luggage before trying Hardknott pass. F**k me that's steep! I thought people were exaggerating when they said it was 45 degrees in places. It was wet, slippery, and the visibility at the top of Hartknott was down to about 20 metres. Great fun.

Sat down with the maps and satnav over a couple of pints on Sunday evening, and with the help of some good advice from Dave the day before plotted a long route home, and when I say long…. We left at 9am and I got home at 8:15pm. Starting out on Kirkston pass with cold tyres, a cold brain and a damp road was certainly interesting, and I’ve never seen a transit van shift as quick as the one we caught on Snake pass. After a sausage and chips in Matlock Bath we switched to some slightly faster roads as we were getting fed up with all the traffic and speed limits that we’d grown unaccustomed to over the weekend.

It was great to meet most of you, thanks to Nanook for organising it and attempting to show that Honda riders aren’t all bad, and thanks to those that came up with some fantastic routes, especially Dave for his suggestions for our route on Monday. good.gif
