[quote name='Geordie Guy' post='60201' date='Sun 4th Nov 2007, 10:08 PM']Just interested in seeing what everyone's mileage is ?

When I got the bike in March it had 5,325 miles on it,

Hi Ivan,

'99 model reg'd '00, owned by me since June '04, 28,000 miles showing, 19,000 mine, not used daily or to commute as both are impractical sad.gif but I do ride all year round biggrin.gif

2006 model, bought new in August 2006, now 21.000 km on it. No problems at all... I think I'll have this bike longer than my average two years, it's great.

Big Bird , see you bought it from Newcastle, I bet some of that 67,000km was riding it from the North-east of England to Austrialia !!!!
Looks in good condition, any major problems?

Newcastle? That's only a couple of hundred km up the expressway. Is there a Newcastle in England too? biggrin.gif

Even though she's looking a tad dirty at the mo, she's in good nick. None of that fuzzy corrosion problem, so typical on UK bikes, in this dry ol part of the world. No problems, major or minor. Just the regular services. Consumes a little less oil than the average TDM, none of the carbie problems that have plauged others. She just eats chains. But that's due to the way I wind the power on and my inept chain maintenance more than anything else.

I've now pretty much reached the TDMs limits as far as it being a "dual purpose" bike. The rocky fire trail I did on Sunday arvo highlighted the old girls shortcomings (the TDMs NOT mine!). The suspension and frame and road tyres (!) just aren't up to that kind of punishment.

1999 model, had high 46000's when I got it 6 months ago, now on high 50's.

Never misses a beat (in the dry anyway; in the wet it does the TDM cut-out stuff which I have got to sort), and hasn't lost any oil as far as I can tell.

the TRX is great fun cool.gif it handles like its on rails
but......they often burn a lot of oil. mine uses 1litre per 800miles which is considered acceptable
steers very quickly, especially with the R1 front end conversion that phatty has
i can recommend the one above, the work has been done by a real professional, with more care taken than i could ever do
its a new engine as he unfortunately stuffed the last one by using the wrong oil by accident
