Hi bikemadcolin, welcome aboard, shouldn't be a problem. ChrisG arranged the deposit payments of £20.00 each and I guess should be able to let Hanno in Germany know that 1 more wants to join the group. Chris should get email notification of your post but if you don't see any response within the next day or so send him an email directly rolleyes.gif

Now on 9er number 2 .....

Moin moin,

if there is one more joining your trip to the MT in Germany, I need no extra deposit payment. Just let me know, how many of you will need a bed in the hut and breakfast at the hotel.

If somebody is interested in ordering a "Megatreff" t-shirt - here are the details http://www.tdm-forum...p;postid=229429.

Just send an e-mail to mt08-shirt@web.de with your name and the size.

Cheers

Jochen

Hi Colin, Assume you're up for the hut and breakfast in the hotel which what I think the rest of us agreed on. If you're up for some trips you may want to look at the RTT if you've not already seen it, there's a big crowd of heading to Ireland for a week in the summer.

Thanks Heide, if you're happy without the deposit that puts us up to 5 in the hut and for breakfasts.

It's 9 euro/night for the hut (bunkhouse, bring your own sleeping bag I think) plus 8 euros/day for breakfast at the hotel, and the site says 14 euros deposit for the BBQ on Saturday night, so I assume they'll want a bit for that. Plus we owe Hanno and Heide a few beers for sorting out out for us non German speakers.

Hi All, although this trip is still 3 months away, it might be a good idea if we get definate numbers and arrange tickets for eurotunnel in case they go up in price, like they normally do, as summer approaches.

I'm definate...who else? unsure.gif

If the ferry is cheaper then I'm happy with using that. However, the chunnel is much faster, only 20 mins, and as we will have a long days' riding it maybe a better option? unsure.gif

I'm definate too.

If the plan is still head out Friday morning and Tony leaves after lunch and hoons it to catch up with us somewhere in France or Germany then I'd agree tunnel makes sense unless Ferry is significantly cheaper. Never been on it though.

I'm still going for definate. Tunnel sounds the best and quickest option, nice early start probably best to allow for leg stretches and arrival before it gets dark.

Just done a quick check on the Euro tunnel site, looks about £68.00 quid return and you get to stay with your bike for the crossing. May get a reduction for a group.

Just had a run through of the route on Google Earth. My house to Langenei is 584 miles and should take 10 hours.
My butt cheeks are hurting just at the thought. Sure looks an interesting ride with loads to see. I could do with an address for the hut so as to check out the local roads in the area. Looks like they had some nasty flooding by the river last summer and some of the local residents have posted pictures on Google Earth.

Check list completed so far.
............................
New front pads.
Front and rear Road pilot 2s.
Tom Tom Europe vii. (Bargain)
Bag lux fitted.
New KnN filter.
Time off work booked.
Passport arrived safe and well.

To do.
..........

Save some dosh for the trip.
Sort out my lectrics as they are still Straight to battery.
Think about booking the crossing.
Tell the wife. (Dont think the old "just popping out to get a loaf" is going to work this time) dry.gif
