Thanks Heide, if you're happy without the deposit that puts us up to 5 in the hut and for breakfasts.

At the moment I´ve got Chris Gray, Tony Davis, Steve Evans, Danny Unknown and Mister X on my list - Friday to Sunday - 2 days Breakfast and BBQ on Saturday. Right?

Cheers

Tony, forgot to ask at Avebury, do you know if you're working on the Friday yet? Steve was suggesting we ought to book the crossing fairly soon.

How early a start do we want to make folks? Folkstone is about 100 miles from mine, and checkin closes half an hour before departure so I guess we want to leave about 2.5 hours. It's about 320 miles if we sit on the motorway the other side, but we'd get very bored of that so probably want to take a slightly slower route, but don't forget we loose an hour going out. In which case how early a crossing do we want to get (there's 3/hour at 20, 42 and 50 mins past the hour)? On the way back I'm guessing 6 or 7 in the evening (they're 20 and 50 past the hour)

Return trip is £74 and looks to take about half an hour compared to £57 and 2.5 hours on the ferry so train still gets my vote.

If everyone is up for it, I say we should leave Chris's as early as possible, maybe 6 or 7 am, so we can arrive at the German site before it gets too late and it gives us a chance to have a few beers and chill before head down. Wadda you all think?

Chris, Im ready to book when you are. I think a nice early start would be in order and then as you said we could afford to deviate from the motorway. Got to remember its a bank holiday weekend so an early booking would probably be best.
I agree with you on the train rather than the ferry plus Ive not done the tunnel afore.

Yep I agree, just need to confirm what time eurotunnel train everyone is happy to catch, I reckon the earlier the better, hopefully 10.00 am at latest. I think it is up to Tony to confirm his schedule before we can make firm plans... over to you TD huh.gif

If we left mine about 7:00-7:15 we'd be looking at the 9:42 or the 9:50, with checkin closing 30 mins before. Call me mister cautious but I'd rather spend some time sat at Folkstone waiting than hooning down the M20 in a panic. 9:50 would get us in 11:25, is that too late? How long is 320 miles going to take us? 6-7 hours?

For those of us that are comming back how about the 6:20, that'll give us a leasurly start and time for some coffee stops on the way back, and gets us to Folkstone 25 mins before we leave Calais

Just realised I've not booked any leave yet, should be any problems though. I'll do it now!

Tony and myself both have radios (not got round to testing mine and dunno if tony's fitted his yet though) so if you've got 'em it might make co-ordinating coffee and croissant breaks easier.
