Hi guys

My TDM was first registered in MArch 2000 and the VIN number is JYA4TX00000008813. To enable me to get the right manual, I'd like to check what the actual year of manufacture is as I think it's unlikely to be 2000.

The problem I have is that online VIN decoders say that the 10th digit is the year (in my case 0), but this doesn't correspond to any code I've read on line as 0 isn't used for the year.

Any ideas?

Diva loike it says above in that link posted by Nikko look at the small white rectangular sticker thas beneath the seat on the frame rail, it'll prolly say summit loike 4TX4 XXX, if your boike has a temp loight on the dash it'll be a 1999-2001 TDM 850. i have 2 of them bikes, one a 99 and the udder 2000 and the sticker said 4TX4 on both of them, i believe 4TX6 is a 2001 model (but according to the table above i am wrong, i have never heard or seen a 4TX8 though). tell us what colour yer steed is.....ahh shucks gal show us some pics of it gwan ya know ya want to. Thanks guys,

I since found a link to the DVLA website which lets you do a simple check based on the document reference on the log book. It gives you date of registration and year of manufacturer. Mine is a 2000, but thanks for your tips guys
