'Tis my ambition, given the capacity of the Burgman "boot", to arrange a portable version of the "easy chocolate trifle" one day. The complication is that some purists (like dapleb tongue.gif ) don't like trifles' being alcoholic.. unsure.gif

Pity I couldn't make it to Bellingham. Tbh I'm concerned about my touring future at the mo - the dicky arm has been a real problem on rides recently. Anyway, the weekend is set for decent weather so I hope a good time is had by all. drinks.gif

Just got back from a fine day out in the Lakes with Hartside. There was 11 of us , 10 TDMs , a 1250 Bandit and a TRX.

The weather stayed fine and the roads around the lakes were fantastic.

All went well until the last leg from Kirkstone to Penrith. I got stuck behind a Pug 406 doing 30 and breaking for every corner. Every time there was a passing chance there was cars coming the other way. Eventualy got passed and found Chris and another couple waiting at a junction so I pulled in......then got stuck behind the same prat again ! Eventualy got passed him again only to miss the Penrith turn off cause the sign was covered by a tree. I ended up in Pooley Bridge.
By the time I turned and went back he was in front of me again.
By the time I got to Penrith I was well behind and I couldn't find the filling station. I gave up and headed home.

Sorry I didn't get to say cheerio to everyone , I hope you didn't wait around too long in Penrith.

By the time I hit Scotland the heavens opened and I got a bit wet but it didn't put the dampers on a fine run.

Cheers Hartside , without you we'd never have found our way around.

pooley bridge WAS the correct route, ya should have carried on thru the village then turned left at the roundabout at the end ... DOH ! (i did explain this on kirkstone) you musta had your earplugs in rotflmmfao.gif

turning round must have added more thna 15 mins to your journey to penrith ,, we waited for 2 cigarettes (approx 12 mins) then decided you must have decided to shoot north up the m6.

everyone was cool about it mate and had all said goodbye on kirkstone really. good.gif

if its any consolation hutch managed to go missing on a straight point to point road (how i dunno yet but he caused a search party riding back and forth looking in hedgerows for about 1 1/2 hours ohmy.gif

still all safe and well hopefully waiting on danny and aircooled and afergie to report in clapping.gif

great day and really good weather , company was as normal for carpe (reasonably well behaved and very cordial).

me and tony had a silly hoon round ullswater and an equally daft run UP hartside. clapping.gif clapping.gif

great day indeed and i have found another couple of roads i will revisit with more time and my decent camera for nice pics badgrock.gif

did you meet afergie anywhere ?? he was waiting at southwaite

Cheers Hartside I had a great day but i'm well and truly shagged now. I had to turn off and missed my chance to say TaRa but had to get back for Meg. It was great to meet up with Hawman and Tony D again and oh thanks Chris for the Tshirt (vray sminky) Once again we were blessed with good sunny day but I nearly got Hypo on the way up. Think I must be getting old. Hope the guys at Bellingham stay warm and dont drink too much.

Hi lads had a cracking day out fantastic roads even though some i think were ment to be for mountain goats rotflmmfao.gif
cheers hartside man superb tour guide you are, great to meet up with some of the lads, sorry i also got held up at
the last legg stuck behind a guy towing a boat and a line of traffic behind him ranting.gif , when i eventually got past and on to the faster
roads towards penrith took the wrong exit and ended up joining the m6 northbound unsure.gif pulled over on hard shoulder and thats when
called hartside, stopped for fuel at southwaite services and waited for hawmaw untill 6.00pm, waiting.gif

still no sign after hartside phoned me back so i headed on up the road and also got fecking soaked after beatock and crawford
sections but home now totally knackered, glad everyone so far has made it home safe, almost a 400 miler day trip here are some pics.........
cheers ajfergie......
