On the hardest parts of our rides there is never time to take out the camera. This time one guy was crazy enough to come and ride with us on his Kawasaki Vulcan. His clearance was too low and he hit the bottom of engine many times but this guy never lost his nerves and kept going

You guys are mad

Appears you always have to travel at least two-up to pull each other out of the holes

More.....more.....more

Depending on what one's interpretation of riding off-road is those videos might just as well prove the opposite. In my little world things like "speed" and "not getting stuck" spring to mind, not just foolish bravery of steering a bike from the tarmac that's inheritely unsuitable to achieve just that

Best time I ever had on me TDM was using it on entirely unsuitable terrain, the exhileration was enhanced by watching the clenched buttocks of a wee 900 rider infront of me in the same situation, wouldn't have swapped that TDM experience for any of me old crossers. Anyone read the book about the guy who took his goldwing around tut globe? He dragged that thing through some of the terrain, not the most suitable....suuuure....but thats part of the challenge.

Recently I installed new chain and sprockets from Supertenere. The rear sprocket is with 48 teeth. What a difference that made when going offroad and driving really slowly...less clutch slipping.

Jonc did you fit a 525 chain or a 520 chain ???? a 520 chain will not last very long on a TDM 850 as the extra torque will wear it out very quickly
