Back on topic though....if your speedo is busted and you don't have the time to take her in to get the front wheel removed you could try getting a bicycle speedo as a temp fix. My TDM's speedo is bust currently and it won't be fixed till I get a new front tyre in a few weeks.

I have one of these. It reads well over 100mph, has loads of functions and when my speedo is fixed it's staying on my TDM. I got it from this Ebay seller too, good service, good price. Easy to fit. I glued the sender magnet to the disc carrier on the throttle side of the bike. If the magnet is too high on the wheel it goes past the receiver too quickly and doesn't get read rolleyes.gif

I don't get how these people who are taking on the responsibilty of removing the front wheel from a vehicle can be sooo lax as to NOT CHECK THAT THE DAMN TANGS ARE LINED UP BEFORE TIGHTENING THE WHEEL!!! My first point of call would be back to the garage to let them know that the speedo has not worked since the tyre change (if that is the case!).

Expensive....well I think Wicky got one for £9 from Damerells?????? But I got a price for someone recently (on the mechanical type....slightly diff from yours) and it was £20+ odd squids. Is easy to fit if you have a reliable method of getting the front wheel in the air.

Cheers

aye KS £9 approx from Damerells in Plymouth tel; 01752201807. the part they sent me was a different design to the one i broke and they assured me it was a superceded part, which incidentally is alot easier to line up and ft correctly. mek sure ya ask fer a Carpe TDM discount. strange thing is anudder bike shop quoted me £20+ vat................

PK it's sooooooooooooo easy to misalingn & break the tangs off.
